They report soon, next few weeks, so divi news should become clearer then....if held could be a large bounce on the cards?

True, the budget is in the front seat. But the reality is that 15.6 million in Professional services fees will not be there or will be far less, which will increase the adjusted diluted eps. I am therefore hoping that the dividend is safe ofcouse assuming their Gross profit is close to last year .

March 31 2024 annual results had a total of 52 million in intangible asset and goodwill impairment and Professional fees. Hopefully this half yearly results will have this amount reduced substantially which will increase the eps significantly. The funds are performing well so earnings should be good inspire of reduction in AUM.

Reeves wants to encourage investment into UK shares. She'll be aware that most ISA funds get invested in UK shares, so it seems unlikely that the £20k annual investment allowance would be reduced in the Budget. Maybe not increased, but I doubt reduced.

Surely the savings already invested in an ISA are safe still?

ISA tax rules can change at any time, and could affect existing holdings.

£20k may be the annual maximum but many "working people" gradually accumulated far more over the years believing it to be the right thing to do to get ahead, while successive governments promoted it.

CGT on shareholders

But ...surely 90% of shareholders in the UK are completely unaffected by CGT since they hold shares only in ISAs & their SIPP....both completely free of all CGT ?

I expect the £20k/year limit for input to an ISA to be reduced, perhaps to £10k ?

except for holders of football stadium season tickets of course ! ;-)

If the average worker earns £30k-35k/year after tax ....& the average worker has to pay a mortgage or rent, & runs a car, & eats !
then the average worker can not put £20k/year in to an ISA. £20k/year is imo only possible high earners, stockbrokers, London 'city' workers, managers & bosses, lawyers, doctors.

and labour normally doesn't make laws to help that class of people.

------

I guess that UK shareholders should be relieved that Starmer is the PM & not the chancellor. The chancellor seems to have a certain level of economic training & experience & imo knows that she cannot not afford to stamp too hard on the business sector.

Whereas Starmer is more of a far left radical/dreamer imo & would perhaps quite happily confiscate all UK wealth & share it equally with the world's poor (so we would all be equal, & very poor !) & anyone with any ex-slave DNA in them !!

...except for season tickets for Premier League teams of course !

Two Tier Kier said he wants to tax shareholders because, he says, they are not working people. What effect will that have on LIO?
