Interesting reference to doubling last years annual revenue. That means an increase in Q4 needed. All sounds loke good progress and validation that the sales focus is working.

Re cash, no we dont know but direct sales channel margins were higher than via distributors so I'm not concerned that they have been "buying this turnover" . There is no evidence of it.

Companies dont normally comment on cash in a trading update so thats a non issue at this point. In general though a fund raise to fuel the growth rate would not be a bad thing now that we are getting increased visibility that the growth model is working.

No sign of them telling their shareholders how much money is left in the kitty or what they have spent buying this turnover buywell3.

Could they be about to ask for even more money as I guess they will?

Still, good luck if you get out at a profit.

Thanks for that link athnotts. Still a huge market out there for plug sockets and light switches but any company needs a lot more than just those and as the article says The Next Big thing to come along to really set the market alight and regrettably LWRF neither has the product or the funds to market if they did. So doomed either way bar a bid I guess.

Equally athnotts some decent volume could quickly propel the share price back into the 20s or 30s.

but it's all a bit of a f*rt in a tea cup isn't it. last june this was 15p and some of you are excited about it pushing 9p? largest buy today is under £2k so if whoever that is sells when it goes up 20% they make enough for 1 starter kit. yawn. i suspect there will be a decline at year end based on the two data points i talked about before: in an update in april they said they expected sales to double this year, but that was not repeated in the most recent update last month. and they've started a little bit of discounting on the smart/apple range. last update did mention further product releases and that would be the only thing that might change my view, gives them something new to sell to the loyal fans as well as helps get new ones.

Whoppy, I don't want to stop sentiment changing. I still hold a few LW shares and would add more when I think it's the right moment. I don't want people to be mislead by people ramping or de ramping a good company.

At the moment there are things that worry me, and also worry other people knowledgeable about LW. If you know your LW history you know when and why news flow and sentiment usually change and what happens shortly afterwards. It may not be the case this time. I'm not taking the risk. People can make their own minds up on the basis of informed opinion.

Good luck to those who are and advise setting a sensible target and leaving with a profit.

Yes, I meant Nest. I'm afraid you can't stop sentiment changing. I think more opportunities are opening up for Lightwave. Just my opinion.

@whoppy I sometimes wish I could have some of what you are on.

It isn't a coup, it's just following what other companies have done with the German retailer. I'd suggest the idea actually came from the retailer, as they were doing it with other companies before.

Google didn't acquire Hive, they acquired NEST for $3.2B and it went very badly.
Google very rarely acquires hardware companies, and all it's 200 acquisitions , two smart home companies, Nest and Revolv in 2014 which it closed down. I'm afraid you are talking utter tosh. It's not fair on people to just make stuff up. Enthusiasm is one thing, just making stuff up is another.

If there is a company LESS likely to acquire a small British light switch company I'm not sure who they are. Google don't want or need to sell $5m of Uk light switches. They want to sell Google Home and they want to grab the best partners to do that.

For a likely acquisition look the Honeywell (Resideo) way. I know for a fact they have acquired some hardware companies at <$50m valuation. Assuming the collaboration goes well, that's got a high probability of happening, at what price, it don't know.

I really hope you can off load at a decent price and then calm down. I'd drink some herbal tea or something.

Starting to move up now. Partnership with Google is quite a coup for Lightwave. If Google likes a smart home product, then they tend to buy it out. They bought Hive which had a smart thermostat. Lightwave have far more, and offer a complete smart home solution. Google don't have power and lighting.

All I got when I hit the link was as follows - "We aren’t in your country yet
You can still browse our products in any of the other regions."

So I changed location to Germany and I did not see the LWRF products whoppy.

At least the PR is doing a good job for you whoppy, hope it works out for you.

Thanks for your very informative post sinkyj but I will be surprised if your a buyer once again.

Never bad news signing an agreement with any Global mega corporation and it should give a shot in the arm to sales in Germany at just the right time. Google are prepared to do this because the products are excellent. Tink are a good outlet for Germany too.

Few things to point out before everyone gets too excited. Google has 10,000 smart home devices from 1000+ brands that work with Google Home, the companies providing this are "partners" in Google language.

"No other smart home tech is getting that privilege" - the announcement actually says
"making Lightwave the first installed Smart Lighting manufacturer in the UK to offer the convenience of voice-controlled lighting in one starter kit purchase". Key words. First. UK . Installed. One starter kit. There are only 2 UK "installed" suppliers and it says in one kit. Very narrow definition of only!

In fact with even the briefest of looks on the German tink site there are also Hue kits with "free" Google.

and with Innogy heating

Google almost certainly won't be providing anything for free. Normally, companies would provide heavily discounted promotional prices for deals like this. $10-15 maybe. LW will be matching the discount to make "free". "Initiatives" sounds a bit woolly and non committal. At first glance this is LW promoting Google products and giving away free, like Spotify are doing.

They key to this and what I'd ask the company , is how much are Google, LW or Tink the German partner will be spending on any marketing campaign, directly or even in services provided. If Google were to push LW up to a promoted result then that would be very important for sales.

A good test for the "partnership" . LW announced it's agreement with Google. Did Google announce it anywhere? If you see LW as a promoted partner on the Google home site, along side Hue, Wemo and Honeywell, maybe time to buy.

they already had a partnership with google, re voice control of their products, that's been there for a few years and is more important that any co-selling/reselling etc of google products. i don't think this matters that much - if i've not got into voice control yet and I wan't to choose which route to go then i'll go make that choice first - then see where the best deal is to buy the chosen machine, based on price. if that's a mini or a nest off the lw web site or one of the participating retailers then fine, whatever works.

the more interesting bit of this rns for me is re tink in germany. i don't know if that's a good move, maybe sinkyj does as he knows this market at a global level.

Yes it does whoppy - Lightwaverf might call even its smallest shareholder a partner, as John Lewis does with all it`s employees but ask those that are being given notice in their maintenance dept if they feel like Partners.

If you had several wives, how much of a Partner do you think they really are when their husbands discard them for a young and better model - in the same way that the likes of Google will discard LWRF if they see no mileage left, having *uc* it well over.

You can see the Market really think this is a life changer with L2 looking as though it might soon slip back once again, still it has given some a chance to dump a little more stock I guess, and trapping a few more buyers if they are unwilling to cut and run, bar of course better news or a takeover.

Was it really worth the cost of a RNS?
