I expect BoE to have similar position to Feds announcement, but more vague on timing and level of cut for next year. We will be forced to follow no doubt and this is the tailwind we need to get back to 260-270p range. Only downside is the topups feel too costly lol

Does monetary policy mean money tree policy but without the gap between money and tree?

Not getting too excited

Will continue to hold but not looking to add any more here there or anywhere for time being.

Lack of funds and overall confidence weighing heavily on my good self but expect lots of positive comments but not much in the way of actual action.

Believe it or not I enjoy the Bah Humbug bit of Xmas as much as the festivities misanthrope that I am

What brought us close to 200p was the LDI fiasco last October and the bond market. Is clearly a big factor, but then there are also several others including rush for cash rather than stocks with interest rate rising ... A big player in the asset market like LGEN was clearly affected. This is followed up with usual helpings of recession fears and inflation. GLA

Bond prices only count up to a point. What shifted the price of LGEN before bond price fluxuations were a thing?

What are the top ten things that we should look for?

The continue news flow that bond yields are falling around the world is good news for us and LGEN ;

GDP fall. Not sure if good for LGEN re: interest rates....

News says this:

Traders may be concluding that the Bank of England is more likely to cut interest rates in 2024, if the economy is weakening.

Lindsay James, investment strategist at Quilter Investors, says:

“UK GDP fell 0.3% month-over-month in October, down from 0.2% in September and missing estimates, piling the pressure on the Bank of England ahead of Thursday’s interest rate decision.

While no rate cuts are expected tomorrow, or for some time, it will be crucial to see how the BoE is monitoring economic growth going forward and what that might mean for the path of interest rates. Calls for rate cuts are likely to grow stronger should this sort of economic data persist.

Trying hard again today, you might be right tornado that we could be seeing a rally back to 260p, worth holding through the reporting and dividend cycle. Still all about bonds and rates though isn't it, rather than LGEN steady winning performance.

I'd like to be retired then, but that depends on the disaster labour foist upon us, and how much more damage they do to UK pension savings.
