mknight: I think 123Trev is hoping for nothing happening next year. That is the point. If its a quiet year then UK PLC should slowly be recovering and FTSE will stay over 8000....

Think these will trade up down and sideways for a while but slowly gain traction along with the FTSE looks like it will easily hit 8000+ before the year end barring any troubles. Interest rates peaking despite a hawkish tone should give a short term lift but all eyes on next year.

He had to do something

Electric cars are well beyond the reach of ordinary punters

This was one of those grandiose schemes dreamed out by the fat mendacious blob.

Sounded good as a sound-bite but as always details were something to be worked out by others.

Pointless at the moment everybody signing up to these green pledges but in reality apart from our Nordic neighbours doing very little about it

The industrialised nations (Germany,India,Usa and China)are still burning oil and coal

Everyone has to get on board and to date I am not seeing it

So think this move by the P M is both rational and much needed

Takes away some of the uncertainty and the worry of extra expenses which would further impact the economy

Have given up trying to guess which way share prices will go

But in line of dividends very comfortable with these as my main holding

My banks performed quite well yesterday I just hope bumbling Bailey does nt nause it up

good luck all

So we now have an extension to net zero who saw that coming! Totaly bonkers and completely unworkable time scales for petrol and diesel cars together with gas getting a reprieve. The truth is the government hasn’t got the money for the infrastructure or the subsidies that’s clearly evident already but at least they’re kind of admitting it now.
What’s next we’re doing a complete U turn regarding housing and landlords will get back there tax breaks and those legal requirements we’ll forget about that for another ten years so you slum landlords can sleep easy we need all of you now L&G have pulled out of modular housing lol.

Mister, I was planning on being a medium-long term holder until yesterday morning when I changed my mind and decided to buy a house instead 😂. 48 hours ago I was here for the long haul.

Don t get me wrong I voted leave
But I have no time for farage

It amuses me to see how many brown down ticks I can amass

What is the record anybody know.

Anyway gratified I picked this as the rock on which I built my ego

Good luck for rest of week not too long till fed decides which way we go

Cash available thank goodness

I love a frenetic market !

jubberjim: I wouldn't worry I get it too.
I think its probably a farage-ist with mental health issues (but I could be wrong - no idea really - I've made lot of guesses - normally wrong).

Hopefully one day ADVFN will switch on the feature which enables you to see who is doing what... That will be an interesting day 😃

Trev

Like you I seem to have developed a follower who must be a keen gardener cos he or they tend to give me a brown tick no matter where I post.

its all uphill from here and my gardens on a slope

Made the right choice here but it is struggling like everything else to make any headway

One of the three has to break upwards then the rest will follow

Meantime will just keep gathering the dividends
Enjoy the beers.

Yes seems to be a mix of short-term and long-term investors on this message board which is all good - GLA ;-)

Normally I'd agree with you, but I need the money in a few months for a property purchase. So a short term drop isn't something that would be good for me as I couldn't ride it out.

I find that's when stock market returns tend to be the best ;-)

I'm also expecting a boost when the US markets open. So I may have sold too early today, but a profit is a profit. Good luck all

I also think it may keep rising, but I don't like the uncertainty of it all at the moment. All in all I'm around £2500 up from my time here, so that'll do me for now. But if they drop I'll be back in. Good luck with it all though, the aim of the game is profit, big or small it doesn't matter, as long as we make it.

I sold out yesterday Trev, I didn't expect the inflation to be so good today, but I bought back first thing and sold around an hour ago for a quick trade. I fully believe LGEN will come good, and if it drops below 220 again I'll be back in. But there is too much unpredictable uncertainty around at the moment, which is partly the reason for the low price.

Ultimately, I'd rather miss the rise than be in for the fall.

You're absolutely right Trev, the only time it's a sure thing is when it's already there.
