Struggling with navigating this site, it might be my old laptop letting me down. Looks different on my tablet, can see the thumb sign now but not the reply button, I would ask Tornado why he is topping up at 297 when he could have bought at 272 a couple of weeks back. Anyway yield dipping under 6% but still good value, not quite a bargain anymore though. Yes I think I will slice a little if we hit 315p before ex-div, might even put a sell order on at that price, not confident we will reach it but no harm asking.

Hi again Marktime. I agree that 3.15 would be a good target for a trim; I would even sell ex-div at that price. You can vote up by pressing the thumbs up icon, the one next to reply. Only paid up subscription members can vote down. Great to see you posting here. NSB

This is still 6% yield with solid EPS positive trend moving forward. I topped up today !

I think that is right William, a light trim - I tend to be happy to do that when the recent gain I have made on an Add is about three times the annual dividend; the argument in my mind is that there is probably going to be a chance to re-buy at a bargain price in that timeframe. The UK market is still cheap while FTSE100 is below 7500 and the narrative for "value" stocks over the year ahead is positive so I don't want to sit in cash for long. De-risk by trimming some overweight holdings certainly, but if you sit out too long you might be missing out. I think NSB prefers to wait until ex-div since he is very focussed on receiving maximum income.

(I would vote a like on some posts but I can't find the right screen to do that at the moment, and the tinkers need to stop ordering me to subscribe)

Was wondering the same Though in my case it's more a desire to de-risk a bit my over all portfolio given markets are looking a bit frothy Quite how that's done other than by selling assets and holding cash I'm not sure At most I'd trim my LGEN holding; I intend to keep a core holding for the long term

Yes hello again, this board seems rather busy, really struggling to navigate. Also wondering whether I would trim my overhang at 315p, and where to find the next the bargain.

Hi Marktime, I agree there has been a fair stint of buying in the recent 2 weeks, not sure if this has driven price up or has been generated on the back of a rising trend. There will of course have been increased buying activity over the tax year end, with people filling last year ISA allocation, or indeed starting their new 21/22 ISA. And of course buying in for the proportionally large ex-dividend.

Quite irritating in my case as I am transferring a further tranche of LGEN from my share dealing account to my ISA Share Account. Have done that by buying the additional holding into my ISA yesterday, with the plan being to sell the original holding over the next few weeks week and capture the double dividend. The latter action will be harder to do now at a profit unless the price rise holds.

Nice to chat with you on ADVFN by the way!

Best wishes

Quite a few buyers have appeared, punters with their calendars set to week-ahead only just realised the big ex-div is fast approaching? Where was all the clever money when a dip to 272p was made a few days ago, very happy to have topped up and enjoying the share price appreciation since. It would be nice to step up through 300p, might we see the 318p high again ... why not, LGEN is worth it.

I do wonder if we'll see 300p before the ex divi day, it's in good shape, making money. Institutions are getting braver by the day and it's looking too cheap.
