Rofl, some people seem to think posting off topic on a bb is a sin as bad as bombing Pearl Harbour or mass murdering babies.

Relax Graham, it's just a few glowing pixels which no one forces you to read. I thought the recent posts, very much in moderation, were quite funny and refreshing.

And if you think o/t posting at the end of the week is that bad, then why did you post o/t?

(ps, i'm very much a brexiteer, and i'm very confused by your brexiteer reference in your off topic post).

I thought this was the LG bb. My mistake. Can anyone redirect me as I seem to have the Slag Off Brexiteers board in error?

Could you repeat that cord, I'm a little haddock herring.Surely the easiest deal to do with the French is to share every fish landed. We fillet the fish and keep the filets for our 3 quid fish and chips, and they get all the entrails for their 40 quid bouillebaisse and anduillettes. They prefer the guts and innards, which are used extensively in their cuisine.

Good cod. Why was fishing not the first subject to be tackled at the negotiations?
I know it stinks.

- From a Birds' Eye view, our plaice in the EU may flounder while angling for a better fishing deal.

Bloomberg: Officials in Brussels expressed confidence that a deal could be struck before next week. Behind the scenes, talks are progressing, and negative language is to be expected at this stage, both as a negotiating tactic and to manage expectations at home, they said.

What stinks is that rules of origin are worth many billions to our economy and our government didn't even bother pushing for them Amusingly it's not cod - the fish we catch in our waters aren't the ones we eat

Boris states that no deal is likely...

The currency markets suggest a deal is likely...

Possibility of a Brexit trade deal and comments from a US official suggesting the UK could be closing in on a deal with the US too.

The Maersk Retirement Benefit Scheme has agreed a £1.1bn (€1.2bn) bulk annuity transaction with Legal & General Assurance Society Limited, which will secure the benefits of around 1,900 deferred members and 3,000 retirees.
Laura Mason, CEO of Legal & General Retirement Institutional, said: “As one of the larger pension risk transfer transactions of 2020, today’s announcement demonstrates the resilience of the market and the ability of insurers, such as ourselves, to transact amidst a challenging economic environment.

A recent survey conducted by consultancy Aon has shown that the market events of 2020, combined with the trends of recent years, could lead to a fresh wave of benefit reviews by UK companies – and of pension scheme closures – in the coming year.

HuffPost: Both houses of parliament are being prepared for sittings over what is usually their Christmas break, with a particular focus on late December.

One option is to bring any Brexit trade treaty before the Commons for a fast-tracked one-day approval on December 28, with the House of Lords told to get ready for a two-day scrutiny period on December 29 and 30.

Capital Economics saying a Brexit deal and a relatively rapid economic recovery thanks to vaccines, could push the FTSE up to 7,500 points next year. Good for FTSE index linked ETF's if you believe the numbers.

Currency markets behaving as though we are going to get a deal even after Bozo maintaining that no deal is still the likely outcome.

Well they've got big pensions coming to them.( that will need justification)Notice as part of the withdrawal agreement we are picking up the tab for Kinnock's / Mandelson's etc .. not inconsiderable retirement arrangements

These negotiations are just like a Brian Rix Farce.
They drag it out deliberately to justify their existence.

As for the statements they are meaningless.

The currency markets have been saying for weeks a deal will be done.

Then again they said that we would vote to remain.
