12/11/2012 08:38 | The Independent: John Lewis department stores saw sales in the week to November 10 increase 11.4% on the same week last year to £85 million. Based on the performance of retailers with good quality products like laura ashley, I feel we will have a good run into the year end. A challenge of 30p again is very possible. dyor regards active | ![]() srpactive

13/10/2012 18:28 | Sorry to interrupt you two, what're your twitter usernames? Also, just to weigh in here and sit on the fence, I'd say these are slightly undervalued as yield is so high and appears safe. Investors are happy with 4% safe yield these days so 7% is attractive. No growth in a bad economy is good - they're performing well. Imagine what happens when things pick up. However I can see mechanicaltrader's point of view. Low dividend cover is a concern. If there were no differing views then there wouldn't be a market. Just try and be nice to each other! :) | ![]() jamielein
13/10/2012 17:36 | We had a similar up move at the start of 2011 on high volume, but it turned out to be a false breakout. On the back of weak economic fundamentals (in general) I won't put my life savings on this trade, but it is still valid to play it. | ![]() notanewmember2
