11/1/2006 14:35 | Simon Fry, Chief Executive Officer, commented "The discovery at Kami is a significant milestone for IB Daiwa which is now a fully fledged natural resources company. IB Daiwa not only has significant producing assets via its recent acquisition of Darcy Petroleum but has now managed to transform the first of its exploration assets into a producing asset to further enhance the portfolio. These producing assets are expected to make IB Daiwa profitable for the first time in its recent history and will generate cash flow that will be available for the ongoing development of its significant portfolio of exploitation and exploration assets. As the huge potential of IB Daiwa's high quality exploration portfolio and the recurring earnings from Kami and Darcy become more apparent, the Crosby Group, together with the other IB Daiwa shareholders, should expect to benefit from a significant re-rating of IB Daiwa in the Japanese stock market. The combination of IB Daiwa's producing assets and exploration portfolio I believe is unique for a Japanese company and with its return to profitability it is on course to become a significant player in the Japanese capital markets." Looks like those that took the IBD shares are on a winner...... | sheeneqa
18/12/2005 16:53 | 16 dec 05 see the company news release Important Update on the Oil and Gas exploration activity of IB Daiwa's US based subsidiary, Lodore Resources Kami As announced by Lodore Resources on 16th November, the Pel-Tex Miami #E-1 well ("Kami") had to be sidetracked due to strong gas flows in the original hole at a depth of 13,297 ft. Very positive gas shows have again been encountered in the sidetrack hole, and it has been decided to run protective casing at this depth to secure the hole down to 12,995 ft. Electric logs were run prior to the casing, with the interpretation showing two reservoir intervals containing gas, the thicker of which was over the interval 11,876 – 11,894 ft. Whilst these shallower sandstone reservoirs were not the main target of the well, management believe, on the evidence to hand, that they may contain producible gas. The addition of the protective casing will ensure that access to this shallow reservoir, and the commercial benefit of this secondary gas find will be preserved while the main target is pursued. After setting protective casing the Kami well will continue to be drilled on to the deeper and primary reservoir target, which is believed to have been entered by the original hole and to have been the cause of the gas kick . It is expected to take approximately two-three weeks to drill to and through this target to a final depth of approximately 14,000 ft. Given the high pressures and free gas that were encountered in the original hole, the sidetrack well is being engineered to enable the deeper section to be drilled to completion and to allow appropriate production tests to then take place as soon as possible. A further announcement on Kami will be made when the well has reached its final depth and the deeper, main reservoir section has also been logged, and a decision made as to which reservoir can be tested and hopefully developed to the production stage. Dr Williams, the Chief Executive of Lodore Resources, commented "The evidence of gas at the shallower levels is extremely positive news for IB Daiwa. We will continue to complete the drilling before deciding which reservoir/s will take priority. It is still too early to comment upon the commercial implications, but with gas prices at historically high levels, Kami looks like it may be a very important and valuable asset for the company" | popen
02/12/2005 10:01 | Jackie I had this issue with my broker and having spoken to David Scott of Lewis Charles Securities +44 (0)20 7065 1150 he advised me that it was not too late to buy them in and accept the offer and he has forward the paper work to my broker to sign it as they are held in nominees. I have not down the maths yet but the new Japanes shares will be worth 16p to 18p, which is why the spread is so wide because they can buy them from you for 13.9p and effectively turn them into IB Daiwa shares adn sell them for 2 to 4p turn nice. If you have only a few you may well be allowed to get cash instead of the shares but I had too many. David was very helpful and said I should go through the pain as there was a good turn in it for me. If you do nothing they will compulsory purchase them and you will not get your money/shares for 4 months. Trouble is you need a broker to help you..but I stood to lose £500 and this way hink I will earn mopre than £1000. hope this helps | seagreen
30/11/2005 10:27 | Hi all, Can someone tell me where I can sell my 34,000 shares in LODORE RESOURCES (LRS). They are being bought by IB DAIWA and the offer date has been extended until the 8th Dec. 19/11/2005 20:28 | Co. Release The Pel-Tex Miami #E-1 well (the Kami prospect) encountered a strong gas kick at a depth that was close to the forecast top of one of the target reservoir zones, and has had to be plugged back and sidetracked as a result. see full text from usual sources. The kick was encountered at a depth of 13,297 feet and the well immediately started to flow. The mud returning to the surface was observed to contain an unquantified volume of gas. As a result the well was promptly shut in to prevent a blow out. | popen
13/11/2005 12:36 | rambutan2 I'm looking at that possibility - unfortunately I hold these in an account with Idealing, and they tell me I've either got to sell into the market or move them out into my own name, as they can't transfer, hold or trade the outcome stock. So I guess I'll have to find another online broker who can... Any recommendations? | ian.g
10/11/2005 23:23 | hi ian.g, nice to hear from you. chances are that you will still be able to trade on aim, whilst still benefitting from the jap backing - you dont have to accept the offer. | rambutan2
10/11/2005 20:55 | when I got my offer document today from TD Waterhouse there no mention of the cash element even though I hold less than 6253 shares.According to the RNS holders of less than 6254 shares get the cash element only as 1000 shares is the minimum holding on Jasdaq. Anybody else in the same boat? | mach10
10/11/2005 19:29 | Good evening folks, Good to see some of the old names still here. Still holding, though haven't had much chance to follow or comment recently, and may not again for a while. I'm not overjoyed to see the business go to IBDaiwa - I prefer to trade on the UK markets - but it's good from the angle that we'll end up with more financial backing, and the price is clearly indicative that we've already got enhanced value due to Dr Bob's activity. Should jump again when the drilling results start to flow. rambutan2, seem to remember you were in Crosby Capital? Turned out to be a better call than LRS so far, and the connections on this deal look like they'll end up making more out of this one again... It'll be interesting to see what the valuation is on this eventually... wonder what happens to this thread after the deal? Good luck to all holders. Regards, Ian | ian.g
