07/7/2005 14:15 | orvis, cheers, i accidentally put 1.55904 in my second line. now corrected :0) | pork belly
07/7/2005 13:47 | pork belly - check your calculator! - your sum on the first line comes out at 19.44p (sorry for the pettyness) | orvis
07/7/2005 13:37 | "issue of new shares in IBD on the basis of 1.59904 shares in IBD for every 10 shares held in Lodore. Based on the closing price of IBD shares of Y225 on 28 June, 2005 and applying an exchange rate of #1 : Y199.88, the Offer would represent a price per ordinary share in Lodore of 18 pence." current IBD share price = 237 yen at close last night current exchange rate = 1 GBP = 194.853 JPY, (1 JPY = 0.00513208 GBP) current offer = 1.59904 x (237x 0.00513208) current offer = 1.59904 x 1.21630296 current offer = 1.944 pounds (per 10 LRS shares) current offer = 19.44p | pork belly
07/7/2005 13:20 | IB Daiwa up 29 yesterday to 237 Yen so the takeover offer is equivalent to 19.44p at current exchange rates. Shame they are not offering cash. Will be a drag arranging to sell a holding in a Japanese co. but shouldn't be too difficult through one's internet broker. If you were to buy more Lodore at say 14.5p you would eventualy make 30% profit before costs if the IB Daiwa share price holds up. Scary times here in London - nearly set off for the West End this morning. Also number 1 child works in the ambulance service and is trained to manage emergencies but it is his day off. We are all staying at home - gridlock out there. | orvis
30/6/2005 16:28 | yes, i suspect they couldn't believe their luck at buying 20 quid for 15 quid today. | pork belly
30/6/2005 12:08 | Some large buys. | orvis
30/6/2005 09:07 | my only concern with this bid is the very sudden and stellar rise of IB Daiwa share price in the past 2 months. it bumped along at around 35 yen for ages, but then, in the past 2 months, has just shot up in dramatic fashion to 258 yen last night. a sudden rise of around 800% ! not everything goes up in a straight line and am a little worried at relying on the fluctuating IBD share price at the moment, although the trend is definately up. at 258 yen, this values the offer at 20p. at 15.75p, this equates to an IBD share price of 203 yen, assuming exchange rate remains the same of course. every 6.5 yen change would equate to 1p difference to lodore offer (assuming exchange rate remains the same) | pork belly
30/6/2005 08:34 | IB Daiwa closed at 242Yen yesterday so the offer currently equates to 19.36p per share... compared to the 16p bid the MM's are offering us at the moment edit. now bid at 15.5p; could be worth buying at this discount to the offer price | orvis
30/6/2005 07:59 | re offer - only the equivalent of 18p offered, they have been higher than that this year plus we have been waiting to hear what the next deals promised are. Looks like a done deal though. | orvis
20/6/2005 17:15 | price has ticked up last 2 days and good volume today. Looks like something may be happening at last. Bene449 www.addicted2shares. | bene449
20/6/2005 15:32 | Quote from the chairman's statement on May 5 "I have been extraordinarily energised in the past few months and can report back to our shareholders that in addition to the drilling rights we have secured and announced today, we continue to be close to concluding a number of other deals that I hope to announce in due course." Should be some news filtering back soon about the other deals he refers to. | orvis

16/5/2005 23:23 | bene, i received my registration but received a newsletter later than the one the tip appeared in. all it said was: "i sold Metals Exploration MTL at a good profit and bought into Lodore Resources LRS, Lily's tip last week. If it follows MTL's performance, it will drift around for a few weeks, and then suddenly peak. I have complete faith in Lily's choices and will hold until I get into profit." do you have the full tip ? | pork belly
16/5/2005 23:19 | Link above doesn't seem to work, Pork Belly. Go to Addicted2shares, and the link for the Free Newsletter is at top of page. | bene449
16/5/2005 23:16 | Turboturtle, Like your handle, as I keep redfoot tortoises. I still hold a few BLZ, sold a few at approx 20 quid. My "kiss of death" took them from 1 quid to 36 quid per share; I think you would be very happy if the same happened to LRS. We are in the same boat with this one, and we should both do well out of it. Pork Belly, I don't know what happened with your registration to the newsletter, and have registered you myself; you should have confirmation of it by now. Anyone else interested in registering, try this link As for LRS, the guy you want to ask questions from is Desktop on www.addicted2shares. It is only a matter of time with this one. I bought a few last week and will hold till I get a nice bit of profit out of it. | bene449
16/5/2005 17:26 | Did anyone see the AIM FTSE 100. Lodore is a constituent I believe | tiger602001
16/5/2005 15:24 | just spoke to lrs. they confirmed they are doing institutional presentations in the UK later this week. i asked if this was to to tell of good news. obviously he could not answer that (didn't expect him too), but said that they were "incredibly busy". he sounded very confident/happy. so the obvious question is why are they doing presentations this week ? 04 may 05: "in addition to the drilling rights we have secured and announced today, we continue to be close to concluding a number of other deals that I hope to announce in due course." "...close to concluding a number of other deals that I hope to announce in due course" talk of 25p - 30p soon. how soon i don't know, but this is getting interesting. | pork belly
16/5/2005 13:10 | bene449 i have registered for their newsletter but haven't yet received anythin6g. can you post the article here or, perhaps, e-mail it to me ? cheers, porky p_o_r_k_belly@yahoo. | pork belly
