SUBSTANTIAL INTERSECTION OF iron mineralisation FROM PRELIMINARy DRILLING RESULTS AT MARIELA

Highlights

-- First drill hole at Mariela intersected continuous Fe mineralisation (15% Fe cut-off) over 227.15m @ 37.2% Fe, from 542.6m, including 27.4m @ 55.7% Fe that contained very low levels of sulphur and phosphorus.

-- Second hole intersected multiple Fe mineralised zones occurring between 187m to 820m depth that based on the limited discontinuous assay data available to date range in thickness (based on available continuous assay data) from 0.4m to at least 21.9m with grades ranging from 20% to 52% Fe.

-- 18 individual samples of between 0.6m and 2.1m thickness were selected for copper analyses from the first hole and ranged in grade from 0.01% to 0.46% Cu, with a raw average of 0.19% Cu.

-- 5 drill holes are now completed, and another 5 are underway with Junefield having successfully modified its drilling permit to allow 6 drill rigs to operate simultaneously on the project.

-- Independent expert report from SRK expected to be provided by Junefield shortly verifying results and detailing geology and mineralisation.

-- A total of twenty (20) exploration diamond drill holes were planned to test a coincident magnetic-gravity anomaly measuring some 3,000 x 1,000 m (reported 29 Feb 2012). Preliminary results suggest that the magnetic anomaly is at least explained in part.

-- The project is located immediately adjacent to a major road transport route and only 60 km from the mining port of Ilo.

-- Exploration of the Mariela project is being managed by Junefield as per the Earn-In Option Agreement (reported Nov 2011). The agreement allows Junefield to earn up to 70% of the Mariela Project by funding all activities to the completion of a Bankable Feasibility Study or to a total cost of US$35 million.

The company has a portfolio of projects in Peru and is actively progressing its Guadalupito (Iron and Mineral Sands) and Ilo and Mariela (Iron, Copper, and Gold) projects.

It is probably ISA-able being listed on AIM and ASX.

Company website -

Guadalupito
 Over 28 km of strike of shoreline sediments have now been analysed with a total of 2,895 samples highlighting extensive contiguous areas with elevated Heavy Mineral Content in the first metre that in part comprise the central and southern areas of the Guadalupito Iron and Heavy Mineral Sand Deposit .
 Average 8.9% Total Heavy Mineral Content in a total of 1,913 samples after applying a 3.0% low grade cut to the data.
 Average 12.5% HM within an average "Sand" content of 70% by weight in a total of 2,234 samples after applying a 3.0% low grade cut to the Heavy Mineral Content of the "Sand" Fraction (-1mm+52μm).
 Gold content averages 0.32 g/t in the "Undersize" (-52μm) component of these 2,234 samples, (1.5% by weight), suggesting gold will be an important by-product of any future operation.
 Initial JORC compliant inferred resource estimate announced 21 December 2011 with 119Mt @ 5.7% HM.

Ilo - Mariela
 The field work component of the ground magnetic & gravity survey was completed at the Mariela Project and has been submitted to Southern Geoscience for compilation and interpretation.
 Preliminary interpretation of the ground magnetic survey further delineates the previously reported high intensity (3000nT) anomaly with the modelled source located under an estimated 30-100 m of cover.
 Initial interpretation of the gravity survey reveals a significant gravity anomaly coincident with the magnetic anomaly and, using a gravity shell of SG 2.8, has been interpreted to be due to a body measuring 3000 m long, 1000 m wide and extending to several hundred meters below surface.
 Interpretation of these geophysical data continued through the quarter and once complete will allow for improved drill targeting.
 All requirements for initial drill permit complete. Once drill hole locations are finalised early in Q2 2012, permit will be submitted for automatic approval.
 Drilling to commence 2nd quarter 2012.

Hi immokalee,
I've posted as below on Chipperfrd's small/mid cap stock comparisons (CHIP) for base metals.
I've not started a thread before so any help great fully accepted!
I think the company has a lot of potential.

Chip,
May be of interest, know you're busy:

To my surprise Latin Resources Ltd has, as of this week, also got a London listing. LSE:LRS, (as well as its ASX listing). No one else seems to know about it either as there don't seem to have been any LSE trades yet.

Iron and associated minerals in Peru. The Chinese have recently farmed in (£60million) to one project. I've held a few shares since IPO.

Their website says more than I ever could.
