Yes, it is a bit odd. An afternoon surge might suggest U.S. buying, but it's almost entirely small buys. You'd think anyone really wanting to accumulate would get on with it and buy in larger lots.

Indeed but the price action has become puzzling. Someone is buying quite a lot of stock against the direction of the oil price.

Same pattern last couple of days. Nothing early in the day then the buying accelerates as the afternoon goes on.

I suspect we will get an IMS - the when is the unknown bit.
I also suspect that they're pitching for a lot of work right now.
Hence an IMS could come with some contract news attached.

Either way we know that forecast outcomes for 2015 were taken down by 10% earlier this year. An IMS could re-confirm this outlook (at worst). Or better still an IMS could perhaps be even more positive and that possibility would be worth waiting into June for!

We'll see.

There is no longer any regulatory requirement for an ims. It's entirely up to the business.
