Can the 170s be far away if/when Brent hits $80?

For what its worth Tod it is my interpretation that there is a small bot buying program running on LAM the last couple of days the objective of which is to quietly pick up a few shares at a time without disrupting the price.

If it can't get the required quantity of shares it starts to take out the offer more aggressively as the day goes on and thus provided all other things are equal the price rises later in the day.

I would venture based on what I see there aren't very many sellers in the current price area and the bot is struggling to pick up stock. I expect sellers to arrive more strongly around 140p

Strange goings on here - almost every day LAM starts with being down till around 1300 hours and then goes blue. Will this be repeated today????????Don't bet against it!!!!!

Very interesting trades today. 200k overall volume of which 70k in the closing auction. On the basis some of the o trades turn into at trades when put through the market that's getting on for nearly half that went through the closing auction - presumably because whoever was buying couldn't get any volume through the day.

Hoping for a quick ride up to 140 where the congestion begins.

Mach100 Thanks for that piece and you may well be correct in that it is at least part of the reason for the upward pressure on the share price LAM is an excellent company with masses of potential. The time to buy was when the share price dropped briefly below £1 (isn't hindsight wonderful?) I am back in after making a decent profit a few months ago and can see 150p not far away

A few days old but might explain some of the recent rise.

Numis analyst Kathryn Leonard initiated with a ‘buy’ recommendation on the stock and a target price of 219p. The shares jumped 4.8% to 119.3p yesterday on the news.

‘Lamprell has undergone a significant transformation over the past two years, in our view, having come close to collapse in 2012 following a period of unsustainable and uncontrolled growth,’ she said.

‘With a new management team and board, the business has been transformed into a quality proposition. The improved quality and scale of its order book and bid pipeline, operational efficiency and robust balance sheet, will enable it to weather the storm in the current industry environment and outperform in the next cyclical upturn.’
+50% plus upside possibly
