07/3/2024 08:30 | Lovely reaction here today. More to come here IMO. Plus keep an eye on Costain RNS next week. They got almost as much money in cash in the bank as their entire market capital. Go figure??? (Costain got rival takeover it or PE buyout written all over it IMO. Time will tell) | hamhamham1
07/3/2024 08:27 | Do the FTSE 250 tracker funds normally start building positions pre-inclusion or do they have to wait until 18th March? Presumably income tracker funds will also have to increase positions given dividend resumption. | hezza123
07/3/2024 08:18 | sp is off like a greyhound -- another big break-out. I wonder if we will see 150p today. | stdyeddy
07/3/2024 08:15 | Order book continues to grow -- almost £11bn now. Shares STILL at a depressed level. I presume the interim divi is one third of the expected full year, so potentially about 5p which would be about 3.7% on this growth share -- a good start. | stdyeddy
07/3/2024 08:13 | the margin news is the best bit. sensible margins have to be the way forward Rolls Royce have benefitted from seeing margins double No-one benefits if you are working for nothing As the margin has more than tripled since 2021 interims perhaps the stock will perform in a similar fashion.. We will see... | undervaluedassets
07/3/2024 08:10 | Should be a strong day for the share price Press so far. Kier reinstates dividend after strong profit growth Strong trading at Kier in the first six months of the year saw the contractor reinstate dividend payments for the first time in five years and slash its average monthly net debt by over £100m. | stdyeddy
07/3/2024 08:02 | Great results, no surprises. profit for 6 months is £64.7m so running at £130m a yr. market cap of £600m so a fwd price/earnings ratio of about 4.5 the share price should be double that! | itisonlymoney
07/3/2024 07:48 | IMO, an excellent report and performance. The leadership teams are performing well and it is good to see thay are back to winning ways after some years of loosing its way. In construction, while you have to retain your key staff during lean times, "buying" work for low or negaitive margins usually ends in tears. | johnrxx99

06/3/2024 17:33 | Think it's RNS tomorrow? Added a few today for good measure. | hamhamham1
06/3/2024 08:35 | Kier order book very strong with no talk of redundancies. They have already secured 94% of their future 2024 workload | richsawko
05/3/2024 14:27 | BAM & Laing Orourke both reportedly reducing headcount - is this harbinger of big firms facing a tight construction as HMG and local councils turn off "the taps"? | stutes
04/3/2024 09:35 | First half audited results are published this Thursday. Also expecting announcement of resumption of the dividend after five long years. Plus the FTSE250 reshuffle happens next week on the 18th and Kier joins the index. Should be a good fortnight for the shares. Incredibly, the shares and market cap are still only at a fwd p/e ratio of 5. | stdyeddy
04/3/2024 09:32 | Interesting IC article on how Kier and Costain are thriving (finally) in the current economic climate. | stdyeddy
04/3/2024 09:25 | 1 Yr funded, 9yrs HMG unwilling to fund. More local councils are facing funding issues - Nottingham, Croydon and not restricted to one political party control. | stutes
03/3/2024 10:11 | Kier rejoins FTSE 250 index Kier Group will return to the FTSE 250 Index later this month after a five-year absence. London Stock Exchange indices producer FTSE Russell announced on Wednesday (28 February) that the contractor would re-enter its mid-cap list on 18 March… | itisonlymoney

03/3/2024 10:06 | They haven't 'canned' a project. I think you should make it clear that the council intend continuing with the contract. Here's the part that makes it clear: In the meantime, Kier continues to carry out the highways contract under an extended version of its previous contract. A council spokesperson said: “Our main priority remains the continued delivery of statutory highway functions and services across the city, ensuring the safety of citizens and visitors across the network.” A spokesperson for the DfT said: “The government has already confirmed that it will maintain the current level of local highways maintenance funding for Birmingham City Council for the remainder of the spending review, so funding will not be reduced over this period. “We have also confirmed over £151m in additional funding specifically for the West Midlands Combined Authority to deliver smoother, safer local roads, as part of our £8.3bn Network North pledge thanks to savings from HS2.” Btw 'stutes' the big news this week about kier - the firm is rejoining the FTSE250. that means that FTSE250 tracker funds will be buying the shares after selling out five years ago. the share price will be going up. | itisonlymoney
03/3/2024 07:31 | How many more cash strapped councils will follow suit and can construction projects? | stutes
