12/12/2018 05:57 | Monty With the short interest so high I doubt the CFD providers had a balanced book so it guess some of that short was actually sold in the market | marksp2011
11/12/2018 22:22 | Hi. I bought the same amount of shares I could get in the rights issue but myself in the marke/ at around 3.80 and therefore won't take up my rights unless we get a big rise now over the rights price of 4.09 by the deadline (which is unlikely at the moment) | russ1983
11/12/2018 22:08 | the real question with the rights issue is is it worth participaqting when the share price is lower than the RI quoted price-what do people here think/ intendto do | ali47fish
11/12/2018 19:44 | But sometimes more interesting to talk about B ! ( smile ) . Good luckn with it and I tend to look for day trading opportunities nowadays when a stock is oversold in the day or overbought . Dow just picked up 250 in last hour but can move very quickly . | arja
11/12/2018 19:44 | Ian, without wishing to reference politics, if there is a leadership challenge, lower levels open up for UK domestic economy stocks - rudimentary take admittedly. | essentialinvestor
11/12/2018 19:33 | Good grief, arja, someone talking about Kier?!!! (The minute the 'B' word appeared I knew the thread would go horribly off topic). I don't know whether or not it's a DCB but, rightly or wrongly, I picked up a few at 385 when it first dived below the RI price on the assumption that the RI would provide some sort of floor. Didn't exactly bet the farm but thought it might be worth a punt whilst sentiment in the sector is so low. | jeffian
11/12/2018 18:09 | nice bounce but is it a dead cat one ! Dow off a bit since UK close ! | arja
11/12/2018 17:45 | Bad to delay it imo We all know unless it changes materially the vote will be the same tomorrow, next week, or 21st January. And delaying it means there is no overwhelming defeat - a defeat which would bolster May's hand, perversely , with EU. "MP's must calm down and take Brexit more seriously." They need to take the vote more seriously and accept it. Most haven't nor do they accept the Leave result" "They will all talk themselves to a standstill" They already have. Hence the bad deal May has secured. | fangorn2
11/12/2018 14:18 | A good idea to delay vote. MP's must calm down and take Brexit more seriously. They will all talk themselves to a standstill. | careful
11/12/2018 13:52 | Is this good or bad for the market? | zicopele
11/12/2018 13:46 | Downing Street says delayed vote to be held before 21 January Sky News | philanderer

11/12/2018 10:29 | You shouldn't be an investor if you expect the share price suddenly to rise after you bought. Only novices and idiots expect that. 12 month/18 month exercise at least and plenty of cash to buy more if I think it's appropriate. Of course, as the rights issue comes to a close, it will start to separate the long-termers from the short-termers and the liquidity should eventually start to tighten. | minerve
11/12/2018 10:22 | I'm still waiting for getting to write down the set of criteria that tells us the EU was a failed experiment. At the moment it is because he spoke to a few guys in the pub on his travels - whilst a chimp on expenses - and he has also seen a few demonstrations on the TV. Listen, intelligent people don't base their life on anecdotes and the opinions of loud mouths in pubs - of which I'm sure getting is one. Intelligent people understand that in order to judge whether the EU is a failed experiment we need a set of very detailed criteria. Much more detailed than any of us here would be capable of writing alone. My god, it never ceases to amaze me the chimps that hold senior positions within companies. The one he works for can't be up to much. Probably a company that appeals to morons. | minerve
11/12/2018 09:47 | Yes Zico, Kier down again - are you surprised?? | gettingrichslow
11/12/2018 09:24 | Hey guys..this is not a thread about politics. | zicopele
11/12/2018 08:42 | careful, you are spot on about "democracy" . Most but not all MPs think only about what gives them the best chance of keeping their seat at next election and hence their fat salary and perks for a cushy job - doing what is right does not enter their heads . For example . labour MPs in leave constituencies know that brexit would be a disaster but will vote for it anyway . | arja
11/12/2018 08:22 | fangorn2, so you are on this thread too and maybe shorting this stock with an awful chart . people like you who admire PUTIN are bound to be brexiteers ! | arja
11/12/2018 08:22 | Kier down again guys. | zicopele
11/12/2018 01:47 | Democracy what is it ? Believe it or not but the Greeks dreamed up the democracy idea back in 500 BC The taking of money , bribes and the receipt of gifts to those olde Greek politicians started straight away So what we have is some clever old Greeks that dreamed up the word democracy as a way to enrich themselves Today the same thing happens but on a much larger scale In the USA it is known as lobbying and is legal Lobbying in the United States describes paid activity in which special interests hire well-connected professional advocates, often lawyers, to argue for specific legislation in decision-making bodies such as the United States Congress. Multinational companies lobby ie pay , various senators to represent ie vote for , their wishes in whatever legislation is before them. In other words , for the record so that folks understand Democracy = Corruption Today its every man for himself as it always was The UK Government have been very supportive of UK Builders , gave tax concessions for years to BTL Landlords , and gave incentives to FTB's and still do and have via the BOE/Carney created a low interest environment that has lured many ordinary people into exposing themselves and their savings by buying more than one property. In short the UK Government have created and supported the present UK property bubble , and in the process exposed the UK banks to a very big risk if it bursts. Banks like LLOY and RBS where Billions of pounds of taxpayers monies is now going down the pan | buywell3

10/12/2018 23:04 | Getting wants a Minerve lifestyle. He even stalks me. Rather worrying that. He is obsessed with Minerve and Minerve's success. Perhaps he really likes a Bill's breakfast. Never had one myself but there is always a first-time. If Brexit fails I will treat myself to a Bill's breakfast. ;) | minerve
10/12/2018 23:01 | Sure getting. Sure. If you say so. LOL | minerve
10/12/2018 23:00 | I know it irks you Minny but there is no life prison, I've got more than enough money to not work but I enjoy it too much and am paid handsomely for something I find easy and have complete control over. It's great! And another LTIP looks like it will pay out in April (a good one too). You should try it rather than wasting all day on here and down at Wetherspoons! | gettingrichslow
10/12/2018 23:00 | No, Brexit is bankrupt. Failed idea. Failed logic. Failed delivery. Failed leadership. Complete FAIL. Decent, intelligent folk would have already told the chimps to go back to the zoo. I would have told them. Chimps need to be controlled. I've had to deal with chimps like getting as a director. They are easily controlled. Give them a few perks, a few responsibilities, make them feel important and BINGO! | minerve |
