Have you read the Finance Director's review in the published 2020 accounts signed off by the auditors exactly one week ago?

You simply cannot say that all of the optimistic talk is from HAA.

if the company does not find the required project finance...unless the company that received the warning has not taken remedial action within the stipulated time frame or has given the licensee a valid reason for the incident.

Well Kefi should have “found” project finance by then can certainly argue remedial action and multiple reasons for delays. Article might make more sense if when English version comes out.

Still seems outside an AGM notification? Possibly a GM?

That is the stock response from every wishful thinker & apologist. Too heavily underwater, independently gathered data encouraging & hope that Kefi may just succeed despite this man rather than because of him is my reasoning. Are you as certain as ever that he has not either lied or failed to announce price sensitive information?

taxi,

If you don't trust the management, what on earth are you doing investing here. The EG have long shown faith in him, as have the Mining Community as evidenced by his numerous invitations to speak at their conferences. I totally agree that he appears to have some shortcomings in the fund raising department I was previously invested in EMED/ATYM, and he had a similar problem there. However, he moved on, and the funding was very rapidly sorted. Mind you. they did not have the EG and the ANC bank to deal with. Hopefully, we are now as good as there.

Virtually 100 percent of the optimistic & bullish talk from those actually in the know has come from Harry. As Tops has been saying literally for years, any kind of verification from stakeholders has been virtually non existent. It was just a week or so ago that we heard about the yellow card & it was not from the Company. If one takes what Harry announces with a pinch of salt, which I now do, what is going on at the moment is very worrying. I would not buy a used car from this man. :-(

I'm actually inclined to think the warning is actually a good thing to a) inspire Harry/BOD to push for closure b) ditto all parties and c) gives cover IF local investors don't stump up the cash ASAP...then plan B is a go...ie higher share for Kefi Plc in TKGM...and work with professionals who can close a deal

People seem to have forgotten that, afaiaa, previous funding efforts failed largely because the ANC and the EG failed to come up with the money to satisfy their parts of the bargain. The press article would seem to relate almost entirely to the EG's side of events. I wonder if they actually bothered to talk to Kefi at all. Of course, it must be said that, Kefi are reliant on the continuing co-operation of the EG. That would apply whomsoever owns/operates the mine.

P.S. Our posts seem to cover much of the same ground. My apologies Belfast, yours wasn't there when I started typing mine, and I am a very poor one finger typist

The irony here as all LTIs will know biz the EG government warning letter is that the majority of the significant delays has been as a direct result of issues in EG...so it's funny that they then seek to blame Kefi Plc for tardiness...last time I checked EG had 2 states of emergency, a war in Tigray and wanted Kefi to work with local investors ANS (lol) and now the new ones...it has been these factors which largely led to delay...but apparently it's Kefis fault...go figure

Why does Harry appear unconcerned about the warning letter.Perhaps he was having a problem with one of the local syndicates dragging their feet with the finance and did not want to upset them.Best thing to do would be to have a quiet word with the Government and a warning letter appears telling them to get a move on or else.He can now push the local syndicate forward or out of the way to complete the deal.

Estseon,

As you say governments need inflation to reduce their debt levels and if it's controlled we all benefit from a reduction in debt (i.e. mortgages) as a percentage of income but they also have to control interest rates!

You're selling it cheap. Even TW has pencilled in 8p. Just look at the NPVs.If the gold price catches fire, it will be lottery numbers.

Gold appreciates when real interest rates are low. Real interest rates appear to be negative and there is little likilihood that real interest rates will be positive for a long time to come. Central banks will intervene to dampen inflation spirals but an inflation rate of 3-4%pa for the rest of the decade coupled with a real GBP growth rate of at least 1%pa will reduce sovereign debt by about 1/3rd in terms of % of GBP (and make it more sustainable) provided that budgets are balanced between now and then.

There are stories, there are counter-stories and there are facts. The benefits of green energy will flow unltimately but not for a while. There will be continued demand for fossil fuels for some time to come and the big oil companies are being dissuaded from conducting exploration and development to replace depletion. Prices for those products will rise. Governments want thos prices to rise because the price differential between green energy and black energy will erode. Increased energy prices will affect all goods and most services.

The increases in fossil fuel prices will be exacebated by carbon taxes.

There may be no certainty but there are strong reasons why inflation at a rate higher than the previous target, 2%pa, will continue for many years and why interest rates will be kept low.

Yeah, with his bonus tranches vesting at 3p, 4p, and 5p respectively it would make sense to see the share price rise to 3p at some point before the end of 2021 and upon full funding confirmation, then conservative estimates of rising to 4p and 5p in the following year as we move toward production. Tbh, I expect that once it hits 3p it'll be clear sailing upwards. Just need to break through this 2p ceiling with some real news. After that, the NPV should do its job. IMO.

Last time the market thought the deal was done this touched 3p instantly until people released it was just another of Harry's empty promises and nothing had been signed. I think with 10 years of failed promises behind him, the market will react positively only when it's actually a done deal with no more strings attached.

Yes it does sound like a stop procrastinating and get the deal done FFS or we find somebody else who can do it.
