So why invest here ?

The share price will fall, corresponding to the dividend paid. That's what usually happens I believe.

Not sure why JIL would just want to sit on the cash, they're not taking on any new cases, makes much more sense to pay it out and de-risk it for investors.

30p and above would be a treat.

The whole business is in self liquidation, there are approximately 14 cases to be completed. The dividend could be easily be more than 30p depending how much cash the directors perceive they need to keep within the business to fund those cases.

Is it not supposed to be a 32p dividend then?

Thanks everyone for the ST info. Nice to see some momentum for JIL. About time!

Am crossing fingers for a 30p/share dividend later on this year.

Somebody asked ST exactly your question, MrMark01, on the IC website, ST replied in the comments section of his column:-

Erk

I noted that. For every seller there is a buyer, and the fact that Invesco have divested 25 per cent of the company's shares without moving the price tells a story. I don't know why they have been selling, perhaps the funds are earmarked for another deal, but what I do know is that the shares are fully cash backed and have limited downside risk.

who's picking up the 27m or so shares that invesco is selling down? thats 26% of the free float!

thinking of investing off the back of the ST update, but slightly concerned about the lack of enthusiasm from invesco. if this is the cash machine its supposed to be, why would they cut and run?

So, even though the holding has already generated a return of 61 per cent in the past six months, it doesnt take a genius to work out that the equity is being undervalued at the current price. Ahead of the forthcoming half-year results, and with the board committed to distribute funds back to shareholders, I rate the shares a buy.

I've boosted my holding today because i don't want to be left with an insignificant holding after any large capital return.

Simon mentions the currency boost and also ...

" ...Cash from these cases equates to 44.5p a share, and I reckon they will boost the cash balance to 58.5p a share. This means that you are getting a completely free carry on Juridica's other 13 legal cases which have a book value in its accounts of $35.4m, or 24.5p a share.... "

Am budgeting a 30p - 35p a share final dividend.

That's the hope at least...

ST covers in his column today, mentions the fx benefit and cash balance will shortly rise to 58p with 13 outstanding cases thrown in for free. He reinstates his buy reco.

I don't think it'll make much difference on Tuesday to be honest. The article was available online last week and in the hard copy on Friday. FWIW I think may have underestimated the remaining NAV from the outstanding cases as I believe the recent partial settlement case still has further value.

Anyone notice we are mentioned in this week's Investors Chronicle.
Will it stimulate buying on Tuesday?
