Agreed john185. I'm hoping it's one of the three available tier 1 refineries with the Zambian government being a JV partner to Jubilee via ZCCM.

Thanks for posting the RNS Bullster - that makes things a little clearer. I find that projected figures are a bit difficult with JLP as things are always changing and Leon isn't the clearest sometimes - my only point was that we seem to have far more copper resources than we have refining capacity.
All in all I think we are very likely to have an announcement of further refining capacity in Zambia at some point.

john185,

Sable refinery is limited to 14,000 tonnes per annum.
With further investment it can be expanded, but Leon said in one video that there was plenty spare smelting capacity available in Zambia, should they need it.

RNS-

Jubilee targets to construct a processing facility at each of the three locations. The extent of the processing facilities is determined by the refining capacity at its Sable Refinery, currently limited to 14 000 tonnes per annum. Jubilee has a set target to expand its access to refining capacity, to achieve a targeted 25 000 tonnes of copper units per annum.

Makes sense for us to be looking at any available smelter in Zambia, and not just for the cost/time to build from new. If capacity at Sable is only 25kt per annum and Roan will supply around 10k then that would only leave 15kt for Elephant. 300 milliom tons @ 0.3 % = 1 million tons of contained copper which would take over 60 years to get through ( less depending on the recovery ). They have in the past mentioned the possibility of selling surplus concentrate, but if they could smelt it in Zambia that would if nothing else earn a few brownie points with the Zambian government.

Yes, directed against your constant vacillating ... I'm not sure whether you are being clever to aid your trading or are just too "mellow" by the afternoon to know what you said in the morning.

Leon has mentioned previously that there were plenty of smelters available in Zambia for Copper processing? I wonder if we’re going to pick one(or two) up cheaply which might move the 25k target nearer and higher!

I have an idea of the assets in Zambia which Colin is referring to, however I don't want to raise expectations or be barking up the wrong tree. It can only be one of three imo. All tier 1 assets.
