kennyp52, we should see strong buying today then as Platinum is UP $14 at mo $989.

What many pi's forget is that the price of pgms go up & down all the time. So just because they might drop a lot within a few days, is no reason to panic and sell, as a few days later could well be back up again.

Pi's should look at the average pgm price over the year not the short term price movements. I would have thought Leon would have already agreed on prices he sells the processed pgms with clients for a set period of time, before renegotiating the price again. He is no fool. Maybe a question for him to confirm this in next webcast.

kenny..Well said. That's exactly the state of play. I agree, it's a temporary sector thing.

Simple imho .. Platinum went sub 980p and then there is enough doubt to question if the basket price will mean finances are tightened up . Get a few sells and momentum and we end where we are . With the industrial use of PGM’s hopefully the commodity prices will hold or even recover higher . Good to see Plat has already gone blue on the day .

Crikey there are some weak and nervous hands here. Market was always likely to try and shake off the hot money pulled in by Thompson and co. Unless there is specific verifiable news there is a problem I'll take the view it is just that. We only had a pretty wide ranging RNS one trading day ago with very little to worry about so unless something happened in the last day there is no issue - pretty low risk of this in my book. So to me it's just normal price action atm

MM's must be very happy that many pi's had stop losses set. Don't think those pi's who got hit will be happy though. Hopefully they will learn the dangers of setting SL's. I got hit 20 yrs ago with Spirent shares I had. Never again have I set stop losses.

About 10 yrs ago someone who used to post on another share, was a retired MM. He said MM's can see the data of what stop losses are set.

Sadly he died a week or so later, so couldn't ask more questions.
