GLR are potless, so they'll need to raise cash somehow. How they achieve that, may give us a clue as to the bigger picture with Kabwe imo.

edit: PH, a much more detailed and reasoned narrative, than my effort.lol

GLR is a tricky one, they have no cash and what they did have went out the door to BMR last year.

They have nothing in the tank to bring the target to production, so if anything was to happen then i would envisage it being in a similar scope to the BMR JV...

Ie a GLR placing to give JLP shares in exchange for a cash injection, with JLP retaining a sizable interest to the tailings and being appointed favoured contractor for the purpose of the tailings build and processing of material.

A cash injection for GLR alone would probably be enough if JLP had access to sable as all they'd need in the first instance is a JCB and a digger driver.

GLR could well be profitable with theis kind of arrangement as when Sable was on the cards with BMR.. GLR's share price went to 10p their current share price predicament could well entirely be down to BMR's failure to bring kabwe to production.

Look at the holdings RNS for GLR, they're all from Peel Hunt.

PH appear to trade GLR given the number of holding RNSs from PH.

Very interesting and may give SA pause for thought. Good news for us I think.

Leon's answer to a question you put to him at the AGM puts doubt in my mind regarding JLP taking out GLR. If you remember Leon specifically said (with reference to GLR) that JLP would not get into mining.

However there is obviously a long term plan in play, and I have'nt a scooby how its going to turn out.

Leon, you and jubilee management are responsible for this shareholder destruction. Another placing looks like it's coming as well. You should be fired. I can understand why BHP didn't want to do business with jubilee. You people are a disgrace.

Morning EbzI too think something is in the offing with GLR and I also think something will happen with BMR's royalty.Atm BMR is a strategic partner and purely from a due dilligence pov that makes me uncomfortable. I'd be very happy to wholly jog BMR out of the picture.

It's also interesting that I think someone has upped their stake in GLR to about 14% this January

Hi GsG
I had a thought last night and would welcome you comments. May be a bit crazy but, I read that BMR tweeted something like things are going well and I will wait until my partners are ready or something like that. Assuming that this is correct as I have not seen it could it be that JM are going to buy or merge with GLR for Star Zinc and BMR will get GLR's investment in Europe as it is no core, BMR will pay GLR with their JM shares approx 20 million of them and sell them at a loss so there is no Tax to pay. This will take BMR holdings out of the equation and JM will have Star Zinc which will add to Kabwe needing the Sable site. The time is being taken because of the OK from Zambian Gov.

This may be way off but it is possible.
Your thoughts please

From Northam's interims on 22 Feb.

"The increased deficit expected in rhodium will continue as supplies contract and demand in the autocatalyst sector follows a similar trajectory as palladium with the exception that in the case of rhodium, there is no real substitute."

Pity platinum has been knocked back from $870 resistance to $825.

Rhodium – auto demand drives surging prices

Lesser-known sister precious metal, rhodium, climbs to a nine-year high, as platinum group metals find strong support from rising autocatalysts demand as user switch from polluting diesel engines.

Rhodium can resist high temperatures and outperforms other PGMs in removing nitrogen oxides from car exhausts, making it a “super-charged palladium,” according a precious metals strategist at Macquarie Group Ltd, adding its it easier to substitute for palladium than platinum.

“Rhodium has benefited from palladium’s rally,” Matthew Turner said. “This gives investors’ confidence that palladium’s rally is built on substantive foundations and points to a genuine auto-demand story.”

Still, global supply of rhodium is only about 760,000oz, just a 10th of palladium output, according to Johnson Matthey Plc, giving the metal strong price volatility.

Rhodium climbed +2.8% to $2,910/oz.
