09/6/2020 12:00 | The real question is how far out is the current Market Cap against known info and my answer is the current MC is reasonably generous. The year to 30/6/19 showed a profit of c8m but 5.5m was a strange add back from previous w/off so doesn't count for P/E purposes. Hence compare a profit of 2.5m against an MC of 75m and you get 30 which is high for a junior resource stock and more than discounts substantial growth. Even if the profit for the year to 30/06/2020 trebled to 7.5m the P/E would be 10. I think we are hopeful that the year will produce much more than 7.5m. Regarding quarterly reporting I think it was Newcrest who recently moved to quarterly reporting stating that this was the current best standard and an aspiration for a company wishing to be treated seriously. AS a former FD I can state that I used to know my figures every night and could inform my board with reasonable certainty of the years result within a week of the year-end date. Most quoted companies declare their audited results within 2 months of the year-end and I cannot see that JM is such a complex business that this should not be achieved. If we want to be taken seriously then the whole company should aspire to best practice. | timhigginson | |
