01/5/2020 09:24 | I do expect the number of deaths to increase as still 36 Serious, Critical cases. | freedom97
01/5/2020 09:20 | Agree good news, but deaths are a lagging indicator by about 21 days. First case reported 6th March, first death report 27th March. More deaths to follow. | sleveen
01/5/2020 08:34 | Morning sleveen, Yes, pity we have a new peak in Total cases for SA, however, good that the new cases reported for yesterday (297) is lower than day before (354), lets see whether new cases each day from now reduce or increase. The good news is no more deaths still 103 total. | freedom97
01/5/2020 08:27 | . . kennyp52, The BBI is an "index" and not the basket price of Jubilees prill split, because Jubilee never divulges this information. The prill split can only ever be a historic value, anyway. I use the Kitko "BID" figure not the higher "ASK" Why the "SPREAD" on Rhodium is so large, currently $3,000, you'll have to investigate. Nevertheless, by using the regular figures in a set formula the BBI accurately follows the "trend" on which way the value of a proxy basket is moving. And that is what the BBI was designed to do, and it does it well. I have used the BBI to forecast earnings on many occasions on this board, which have proven not to be wide of the mark, which is testament to its usefulness. . . | bullster
01/5/2020 08:10 | 9th May, 9.99 a ticket. I just wish we could get a bit more mainstream coverage rather than the likes of shareprophets. Thanks anyway Robers. | frogkid
01/5/2020 07:54 | @bullster I dont suppose you have put all the historic BBI on a spreadsheet have you? I would like to make a little chart for us all to ponder.Cheers, frog | frogkid
01/5/2020 07:53 | kenny The latest C19 data (30th April checked this morning)discloses 3471 active cases and 297 new cases. Check graphs 2 & 3 (active & new cases) here A 21 day lockdown was announced on 23/3 to start on 26/3 and extended by 14 days to 30/4. on 23/3 there were 398 active cases and 273 new cases this was enough to initiate the lockdown. Today there are 3471 active cases and 297 new cases (354 new cases the previous day). Look at graphs 2&3 compare the data with the timing on the lockdown and 14 day extension look at the data to date. Looks like the initial 2 weeks of the lockdown were effective and thereafter the new/active cases began to climb and continue to do so. You could reason that without the lockdown the figures might be much worse, however it seems to me that a further lockdown could be justified on the back of the latest data (even if that slowed the SA economy further) | sleveen

01/5/2020 07:45 | Good Morning Avatar333, please note that the BBI recorded on 30/4/2020 is a bit lower than it should be - owing to the bargain price of gold used in the estimate. A correction would give something above 1500 US Dollars. If the headers could be corrected by those good folk who can, this would be appreciated. Avatar333 - could you please double check the maths in future if you can spare the time? Tx | mrtennessee

30/4/2020 22:15 | Should now see a gap up to 4p, probably not tomorrow but maybe by end of next week. If it wasn’t for Covid we’d have been north of 10p by now. That’ll come soon enough. | lostabillion
30/4/2020 21:27 | Bullster .. mind me asking where you get your Rhodium price from ? Metals Daily $7750 ; Moneymetals $6900 then Kitco has it only $3900 ??? | kennyp52
30/4/2020 21:05 | Nicely past 3p now . Will it move on from here is the question . Palladium up another 2% at 9pm ... $1980 . Be good to see that returning to $2400+ . Motor manufacturing reportedly winding back into motion so the old catalytic converters might help rhodium also . Good luck all . Be a lot happier when this is back over 4p. By the way ... COVID19 in SA is currently under control with only just over 3,174 active cases and 103 deaths . Death per million population 2 . Unless I am missing something and the virus is about to break out I don’t see the problem ? | kennyp52 |
