It is but he called his own trades before the rise so good luck to him.
As for him being "a pure gambler".He trades around his holdings.
I do the same.

PODP issued an RNS towards the end of the day. They're pi$$ing away cash and will no doubt need a fund raise in due course.

Paul Scott is a pure gambler, sometimes it works out for him, sometimes he gets taken to the cleaners...

WAND,up 15% today. No holding myself but pleased for Paul Scott. From yesterday's stockpedia report" I've broken the golden rule of not averaging down, and increased my position size by 36x, which has brought my breakeven price down from 950p to 71p"Brave or ?htTps://www.stockopedia.com/content/small-cap-value-report-wed-26-july-2023-rbg-mab1-nicl-wil-nxr-motr-frp-hvo-ltg-972610/

Finally got my SUR takeover funds, but everything I've been looking to buy has gone up over 15% and over the last 2 weeks whilst waiting for the funds.

This market is difficult to call, will it keep raising as better inflation data comes out, or are we going to have a autumn wobble and traders will panic sell and I can pick shares up much cheaper. I just feel If I buy now the market will suddenly have a wobble, but if I stay on the sidelines the markets will keep rising as inflation continues to fall..

I see the Vox markets motely crew calling the end of the bear market for micro-caps. You start making market calls like that and that's when you'll start to look really stupid..

That sums them up though. For them it's just about jumping in and out and trying to be clever and looking good to gain more followers.

Goodness, what a surprise to see you posting GHF, just in from the day job (some of us still have to do it) and it’s made my day as it has for others given the likes. Wonderful to hear from you and that you’re keeping well and still involved with stocks but on a let’s say more private way. You certainly had the knack for picking fantastic stocks and your in-depth research was the envy of many.
Thanks for the comments about the thread, while I’ve little time to post as often like you say the calibre of quality posters keep it going and I thank them for that.
I hope it won’t be too long before we hear from you again.
All the very best to you and family.

Well hello GHF :o) Glad to hear you are ok, was a little concerned to be honest.
10 years full time for me now, gone like the clappers. Still, better than burning the candle at both ends trying to do a full time job and research stocks late at night.

Splendid to hear all is well!

Warren Buffet and his partner Charlie Munger still make long-term, VERY long-term investment decisions today even though they are about 96 and 99 (or whatever) years old..

The whole point of investing is that you should have made a decision 34 years ago, then 33, then 32,, then 31 etc etc etc.....so you are reaping the benefits of your decisions right now..

It reminds me of the old saying about planting trees:

Q: When is the best time to plant a tree? A: 50 years ago!

Ok, Q2: when is the second best time? A: Right now!

I'll tell you what is boring and that is these daily vox market updates..

JW made the comment that in 34 years he would be dead by then - I just shake my head because that one sentence just about sums up the mentality of todays trader community. They want multi-bagging gains and they want it now...

We had that little rally last week and suddenly all these traders are out of cash and back in the markets again...

They look at it from a traders/markets perspective and NOT a commerce/real life perspective. I doubt any of these market commentators have actually ran their own businesses because they would realise it is not that easy!

Justin waite had a pop at me about my Unilever comment, on his podcast today.

I messaged him yesterday, to say how can Unilever be boring when since 1989 your making 40% on your original investment. Year after year

Unilever - boring - lol it's been a fantastic investment over the years. It's brands are everywhere and in high demand, it's very far from boring. JW knows nothing..

These days i am filling my portfolio more and more with "boring" as these stocks are frequently the best performers.
