First trade for a while with a small buy at GTC.

A poor day for me, down 1.7% and -6.5% YTD mostly on the back of QRT -27%. Keeping the faith there for now.

QRT half year results show revenue and profits down substantially on an exceptional 2022. Cash flow is excellent resulting in net cash of 9.6 million but no doubt it’ll be marked down

Well done INS holders. 41% premium isn’t too shabby. 👏

Where are my takeovers in 2023? 🤣

I've been looking into it. While Ashley does have a tendency to have a fair holding, he doesn't buy them outright - counting Mulberry, Currys, Boohoo, N Brown as examples. But with these players building a substantial holding in ASOS, it is telling as it reduces free float, particularly as it is one of the most shorted companies out there. Also at £486m market cap, they only just spent £330m snapping up Arcadia's brands including their stock.

Interesting Galles, maybe 🤔 they’ll make an offer at some point.

Interesting development at ASOS. Bestseller now have 27% holding, along with Frasers with 19%, and Camelot with 14%. Large holdings by few players. Wonder what will happen if they continue increasing their holdings. Frasers only started having a notifiable interest last Oct and already have 19%

Good news on GTC David. Getting the word out is always a good thing.

As a previous holder of RTC Ihave looked at them but didn’t purchase after the rise but I do see them as still cheap.

As an aside as I spotted Norman Broadbent mentioned and their 40% increase....same sector but have any of you looked at RTC group recently?

They moved from loss to profit in their interims and now paying a substantial dividend likely to be over 6% when the finals are announced. The outlook was positive and I think they can achieve 11.5 to 12p of earnings as H2 is normally the strongest half. That puts them on a P/E ratio of 4.5 and growing with a very big order book.

Worth checking out and I admit to bias in my confidence as I hold and have done for many years. It is my 8th largest holding but a small cap for sure so will not be everyone’s cuppa

Good news....GTC have agreed to do a Mello presentation at the end of September.

It will be our September results show and quite a marathon with eight companies wanting to present and another ten or so featured in the Results round up session with our Mello panelists so should help raise the Getech profile.

Shocked to hear of the death of Jonathan Lander of Volvere. He will be missed. After a short illness apparently.

Don’t have time for many podcasts at the minute but I like Richard Perry and he mentioned ADVT a former holding.
Worth a listen. One Health is one I’d not heard of before.

I must say I’ve made the biggest gains from buying stocks at what seemed lows and then buying more when they lower still. Quite a few that then succumbed to a bid like RPS.
