You gotta like the irony, hardly any mention of Matthey on here, and no mentions on the premium BB.One of the very few comments is a prediction that its heading for 960. Up 25 today as just about everything else crashes to Earth. Perhaps the really big buyers (and its price is dependent on those) also think this is a stock which will profit greatly from its R&D investments today.

Sorrel, JMAT will hit 9600 before 960, and it will hit that within 2 years. There will be consolidation in anything fuel cell, the fuel cell divisions will be floated off and high ratings placed on those. Anything making fuel cell components will be chased very much higher and therell be bidding wars once bigger companies currently not exposed to this technology attempt to buy into it. Good bets are Shell BP Du Pont going for the demerged divisions from any of the current crop of fuel cell companies. They may not even wait for any demerger, and just bid for the whole company, and dispose of any non-FC assets later. The fun will really start when the first approaches are leaked.

Yes..Dace your £2.80 is looking good..you must have bought about feb. 98?..tell me why haven,t you sold before now.?.as I tend to hold on to shares too long, perhaps I shouldn,t be asking the question (though I,m trying to mend my ways)Our investment club (with most members not having dealt in the stock market previously)is showing me a thing or two having got out of stock (which I also hold)showing 20 to 29% profit within 8/12 weeks .. The club is getting a bit more refined and we do hold some decent stock including Laporte..BT..Johnson Matthey and elementis..and we are particularly interested in persuing the fuel cell technology field as we,like many others are convinced that the days of oil are sadly numbered..but it does seem that apart from jmat and crpr no other british companies are involved and that it is all happening across the pond

Johnsom Matthey (JMAT)are today classed as a buy at UK-invest .com at£10.60 (now £9.98) Our share club bought at £9.99 and though we have stop gains on most of our shares this one we feel is for the medium/long term..as I stated previously my own shares in James Cropper (which showed a 30% gain in one month)are now showing a modest 7.7% gain and perhaps I should have sold and bought back but again but I too am interested in the medium/long term prospects of a company I feel will benefit from the future of fuel cell technology

Our newly formed investment club opted for a few Johnson Mathey shares (nothing clever as half of our portfolio is via subscription tips) but I decided to buy some James Cropper as JM had nominated them to manufacture the Fuel Cells plus I like the Lake Disrict(JC is in Whitehaven). I was suprised when searching this site that there has been no CRPR or JMAT under discussion and yet on the motley fool site both these companies and fuel cell technology has been aired (both for and against) my 266p is now 317p but as this technology has yet to find its way in a big comercial sense I may be in for the long haul...Anybody any thoughts??
