21/10/2008 14:10 | mrminister : Well done. I didn't have your courage with the share hovering around the 200p mark early yesterday morning. Looks like I might have called this one wrong. | wendsworth
21/10/2008 08:12 | what a difference a couple of days make.....my buy on friday looking very good | mrminister
20/10/2008 11:21 | steal at this price | juju43
20/10/2008 09:10 | Low volume. Going nowhere except ....out of the FTSE. | wendsworth
17/10/2008 12:40 | well went long this am and it fell like a brick.... already miles away from any profit....had for 4 hours.....this market is a circus | mrminister
15/10/2008 09:31 | oversold here now . beware falling knife but good value | juju43
15/10/2008 09:02 | addouglas - you presume too much; that for instance I still hold WG. I don't and have been lucky getting in and out over the year at a proft; oh and I've also lost on other shares, as you do. But at this point I think John Wood represents great value and I am about as sure as I can be that they will deliver on what they say. You'll see my post of 27 recognised your contribution to the thread. | silverfern
10/10/2008 14:17 | Oilfield services company Wood Group said its trading performance for the year to date has been strong and it expects growth to continue. "Demand for our services and products remains high, despite the significant current volatility in financial, commodity and currency markets," said the group. Wood added that its overall funding position remains strong, with bank facilities of around $1bn committed to July 2010. | slim9
09/10/2008 21:19 | soz Add...but personally make me own decisions as its my money..thanks anyway | badtime
09/10/2008 13:37 | LOL? not in the slightest bit funny mate. very bullish interims - fully funded, plenty of contracts, non-volatile geographically. happy to hold. | dasv
09/10/2008 13:17 | Well silverfern and badtime, hope you go back and refresh your memories from my posts 23 & 26. Not that I like to say I told you so. The only thing I appear to have got wrong is that all this played out a lot faster than I anticipated. FTSE has gone below 4500 and WG. below 300p. The question now is when to buy again, and I dont think we've seen the bottom yet. Two elephants fell of a cliff. BOOM, BOOM. LOL - sorry for the ribbing, I couldn't resist ;) | addouglas
09/10/2008 07:34 | Trading statement out - as you might expect it's bullish, emphasising working capital and that contracts are based on longer-term considerations. | silverfern
08/10/2008 21:00 | bought a few more at 240..didnt quite catch low of day | badtime
07/10/2008 17:19 | well as I say above, this may not be at its lowest, but it does represent really good value now. One concern is its FTse100 status and it would fall out if the judegement day was today. I would assume a quick return based on...results, and eventually market normality will be resumed on the basis of the 'r' word (IMHO. | silverfern
07/10/2008 13:06 | i had buy ordr in at 270..jus didnt quite meet it | badtime
07/10/2008 13:02 | Hmmm I've tripled my SIPP contributions. I'm considering upping another 50% now. Buy into weakness, sell into strength. Caveat is company, sector, balance sheet, prospects must be sound. WG., PFC are sound businesses. | dasv
07/10/2008 08:31 | I disagree, as it happens. THe time to buy is when you believe the market is at its lowest. It may NOT be at its lowest but it certainly is lower than at any time in the last few years. THIs company is currently trading on a current p/e of around 12-14 and a forward p/e of lower. Given its ability to increase margins as well as up turnover, it might be very much the best time to buy. NO ADVICE intended though - I have an appointment to book first. | silverfern
06/10/2008 22:04 | ive booked my hospital appt | badtime
06/10/2008 18:52 | Anyone buying shares in this climate needs their head examined! | dancing piranha
06/10/2008 12:57 | Cant believe this share was nearly £5 just few months ago! Looks good value to me at this level. | foreverbull
03/10/2008 21:49 | 300p nxt stop?...ouch | badtime
16/9/2008 22:52 | Their exposure to the Canadian oil sands is through IMV projects which they bought last year. IMV's PBT for 2007 was $23mm vs group PBT of $260mm. They paid $140mm upfront with an earnout to 2014. | wjccghcc
16/9/2008 21:25 | hmmm...thinking | badtime |
