Although "retired" and not officially in the driving seat, Meeson is very much still on board. I wouldn't underestimate his influence and those now in charge, Heapy and co are very much in the same mould. You won't find nieve, inexperienced MBA types in this business.Liverpool base is also a very shrewd move. Puts Manchester airport on notice to up it's game, provides an attractive alternative for customers who want a better airport experience and gives j2 a massive boost in resilience in their busiest heartland and parks a few tanks on the lawn of easyJet ?

I'm strapped in, ready for take off. But always mindful that even on good results, people often sell into the news. The market can often react illogically to good news announcements.

Thanks everyone.
We are looking at a 21% capacity increase in the new financial year which is huge.

However current year prices have remained strong.
Load % seems to be up.

Bookings are very strong.

Lets see what tomorrow brings

I think the days of the company totally blowing estimates out of the water are behind us. Why? We’ll, when Tiger made all his money PM controlled the business very tightly and was equally tight with information flow to the one, possibly two analysts who covered the company and the shareholder list which was less than 10 holders of note. News releases genuinely had the chance to surprise in a material way. Today, PM’s entrepreneurial set up has been replaced by a managerial team who are better at information dissemination to an analyst and shareholder base which is much expanded; the consensus is much more firmly established. Also, the growth rate has moderated from those early days and so the margin of error has reduced

There are headwinds on staffing , specifically pilots, everywhere is short and there is no easy fix, j2 are in no way immune from this. Middle east and cargo operators are recruiting aggressively.Fuel/currency I would expect they have taken a safe position hedge wise.Airframes they have been busy both with new airbus and some additional used 737's recently added.Bookings I think will be on / ahead of expectations, possibly some caution that household budgets remain pressured..

By extraordinary I meant far higher than last or any previous year in that period.

It needs to make “extraordinary” profits in those months (October isn’t bad either) to carry through the leaner winter months; sadly companies have to report on all 12 months performance not just the good ones.

Jet2 is likely to make extraordinary profit this year from April to September. The share price should be much higher by the end of the year IMO.

i am expecting something like this.............

Given these positive indicators, the Board now expects to exceed current average market expectations (1) and report a Group profit before foreign exchange revaluation and taxation for the year ending 31 March 2023 of between GBP490m and GBP 530m.

Then a bit about the strong bookings over the critical xmas/new year period.

Dont forget we took some one off hits in this period as well as mentioned in the 1/2 way numbers

"EASYJET CEO: WE KNOW CAPACITY WILL BE TIGHTER THAN EXPECTED BECAUSE OF CHALLENGES WITH AIRCRAFT DELIVERIES, TOO EARLY TO TELL WHAT FARES WILL BE FOR SUMMER."

Jet2 should run on full capacity.

Personally, I would much prefer JET2 to stay on AIM as like Tiger, it forms a significant part of IHT portfolio: but what will be is what will be.

Seems pretty vague for the main market to produce a boost. The FTSE 100 is very undervalued by most measures too.

Also, with the AIM IHT benefits, specific discretionary investment portfolios are built to take advantage of the AIM market benefit. They move to a main listing and every AIM IHT portfolio will be forced to dump them.
