09/1/2024 15:48 | CT.What time do you have to get up for a 6am flight from FAO? I would not choose a 6am return flight for a annual family holiday unless I was on a tight budget. 6am would be OK if FAO was a regular destination and I knew a reliable taxi firm. I would prefer to leave the UK at 6am rather than catch a return flight at 6am. | darrin1471
09/1/2024 15:19 | Brexit could be an issue there. Setting up an EU registered AOC may be required and that is a big cost. | trying2trade
09/1/2024 14:50 | I would go w and have some overseas bases. FARO/ TFS/ and some Spain. Leaving these places at 6.30 am means the U.K. airport is clear. I use RYAN from FAO to LBA at 6.00 am it’s fabulous. | castleford tiger
09/1/2024 14:13 | I think your spot on with Southampton. I also think you could drag some business away from Gatwick by operating at Southend, who are also relatively quiet post covid. It would be a hell of a lot more reliable than Gatwick and cheaper. The problem for Southampton, is the catchment area truly big enough? Ryanair are pretty consistent at making a go out of Bournemouth, so possibly it is. Apart from those, I don't know where expansion lies for jet2. Luton are adding stands but it's relatively minor. LHR is an absolute non starter. Cardiff just isn't ever creating numbers for anyone who's tried. Exeter, demand unlikely to warrant it. Norwich, Ryanair are going to give it a go. But again, never going to be somewhere you can put 8 aircraft. Could it be possible to fly W patterns to the closer destinations, possible. But it plays havoc if you go tech or exceed crew duty. | trying2trade
09/1/2024 14:10 | Barclays’ latest spending report, based on information from 18 November to 24 December, shows spending with travel agents grew by 12.8% and with airlines by 20.2%. In the previous month, spending with travel agents rose by 9.2% with agents and 14% with airlines and in October it was up 9.6% and 12.9% respectively. Also in the FT. "The travel sector had a strong month, however, with spending on airline tickets up 20.2 per cent year on year and travel agents reporting a 12.8 per cent increase, both well ahead of November’s growth rates." | darrin1471
09/1/2024 12:48 | Big outlay to get Gatwick running as a base, and alot on right now. Fleet retirement, new Liverpool base, new airbus fleet to integrate with order delays, additional 737 aircraft to cover gaps in airbus orders. 5 used 737 have just appeared on UK register in J2 name.Gatwick is not a slick airport, and there is only so much an airline can do to make it so. Slots, curfew, air traffic controller shortages, busiest single runway airport in the world etc etc.Am sure it's on then cards but maybe a step to far right now...Part of the reason LPL has been opened is the dire performance of Manchester with things like wheelchairs, baggage belts etc etc. things that delay flights but that the airline can't always control. Meeson has written about this in annual reports previously.I could see an aircraft base at Southampton, runway extension in progress and very quiet since demise of Flybe. | tp6
09/1/2024 08:54 | ezya mass of slots to BA in November. There's no way BA are going to use them all - not a chance. | trying2trade
09/1/2024 00:38 | No slots in Gatwick | ahti777
08/1/2024 23:15 | But can they get Slots Aircraft Tiger | castleford tiger
08/1/2024 14:11 | Im not convinced it'll be a bumper summer. easyJet holidays brand are coming with a fair bit of a steam it appears. Jet2 have to consider Gatwick. Large amounts of crew would jump ship overnight, they can cause EZY a real headache by taking 10-15 aircraft there. | trying2trade

08/1/2024 09:42 | According to this morning's brilliant Langton Capital email: "Jet2holidays has reported ‘record’ demand for holidays since it moved into the industry's peak selling period in December. Travel Weekly reports Jet2 as saying that between Boxing Day and January 5, bookings rose by 150% compared to pre-Christmas levels" Asagi (long JET2) | asagi

07/1/2024 20:47 | I like the idea some people think it's going down tomorrow.? no disrespect to anyone just makes me think it's going up.. MMs love to do the opposite to what people are thinking,,Look at ghosts record, if he calls it down ? then we could be sure it's going up but he will probably wait till tomorrow night to say. LoL ,, ITs only money 💰 don't let it cost you more than money,,? | scaff55
07/1/2024 18:14 | Ryanair have 737 Max 8 200's. TUI have Max 8's, that's it for the UK. The Alaska Air issue is with 737 Max 9. This will still be down tomorrow that's how it works. Although I will gladly be proved wrong :o) | bigbigdave
06/1/2024 19:56 | Flightradar24: "Alaska’s 737-9 MAX seating configuration is not dense enough to require the mid-aft cabin exit, so the door is deactivated and standard sidewall paneling is used on the interior. To a passenger, it’s just like any other seat." | darrin1471
06/1/2024 19:42 | If the mkt tries pulling it down ,, there are plenty of buyers ,,as u saw last Friday | gripfit
06/1/2024 16:32 | JET2 got no 737 Max but like you say any excuse to drag it down with the sector | bigbigdave
06/1/2024 16:25 | Boeing 737 grounded in USA,,,, don’t think jet 2 fly that model though … could be an excuse to knock the price on Monday though ? | gripfit
