Hibbett were one of the best performers in US market, and JD had geographic gaps that Hibbett fill very well, so seems a very good acquisition. Cowgill was happy to buy growth, too.
Share buybacks seem a good idea now, mind. They’ve got the credit to do both if they like. This opportunity had only come because they’re valued so lowly by the market, but it seems overblown to me…or I’m missing something. |
Schultz buys growth, eventually you run out of opportunities, instead he needs to consider share buybacks at this level. |
Did Nike go woke!? I must have missed that. The biggest problem for Nike is lack of innovation and the foolishness of stabbing is retailers in the back. Competitors said thank you. JD is too exposed to Nike, should diversify its brand offering more. It's really time for Regis to put his skin in the game, he's clearly losing investors trust. Let's hope the numbers in the next TU are prettier. |
@bookbro, I don’t see what Schultz has done wrong, but I do see a tanking share price. Can you explain, please?
Also, don’t get the idea about a retail giant moving away from retail. Can yoh explain that also, please?
Quite keen to avoid more losses.
Thanks |
Nike is a damaged brand since it went WOKE, and like Budweiser and Disney, will take years to recover (no guarantee). Meanwhile strong competitors will become the market leader.JD. is a middleman caught up in the global decline of woke brands, so the pain will continue. Avoid. |
gswDo you hold? |
Regis Schultz has been a total disaster here, completely lost the confidence of investors. Strategy of buying more retail looking increasingly ropey. |
Interview with the new Nike CEO |
Double your money in 6 months sounds a bit fantasy land but who knows. These are cheap and have a good record.Paul Scott very bullish on them and holds. Interesting to hear what he said on vox markets yesterday |
I wish I had some free funds to buy this...but my funds are all tied up..For real share holders of this company....dont listen to these chat rooms ..these are full of day traders...just buy real shares if you have spare money ...put in to the bottom drawers come back in 6 months..you double your money...why 1.Its doing business in well diversified regions of the world..their move to growth land of US ..is the best decision they made...Mr.Trump is a real business man and he welcome foreign investment in US with just 15 percent tax which creates employment in US 2.this company got hardly any debt..making profit of 915 million at least a year
3 . Under Mr.Trump..houthis not going to attack ships passing through Red sea 4. oil price will come down significantly when Ukraine war stops and with Mr.Trump policy 5...if directors and his wife can buy above 112p lately..you can buy 6.. Those who got money to buy as investment..it will double your money with in 6months 7. Totally ignore these chat rooms noises...its full of day traders, cfd traders, spread betters, options traders..interestingly 90percent of these day traders loose 90 percent of their deposits in 90 days to brokers... rest 10bpercent at some point in future loose it all........Real winners are long term investors...it the fact |
Seems to be some mixed performances - Puma shares fell nearly 23% on lower sales and profits, but Adidas shares have jumped to a three year high on their profit beat. |
