Interesting developments regarding major shareholders and transparency of holdings.
Are we getting set-up for some institutional support. A bit of forward planning to increase the liquidity for the days when large shareholders cash in their chips would be good.

Interesting development with the dissolution of Sion. Does anyone know who Florence and Lionel Grant are and their relationship to the CEO? On the share count, they've been quite canny with the timing of their share purchases in the past. My concern on interest income is how little SHRE and Hargreaves Lansdown earn compared to JIM. SHRE said in their full year results announcement they were getting 0% on some deposits and HL guided to a 0.4%-0.5% rate for Y/E 6/17. Cash under administration for JIM as at Jun 16 was £182m (my estimate going back to when they last reported a real number as a KPI (1H2013) and rolling it forward by the percentage movements they now disclose as a KPI). In FY16, they earned £3.46m in interest income and had EBIT of £3.6m representing nearly all of their operating profits (it's >100% in some years). If you take £3.46m/£182m = 1.9%. They are earning vastly more than their competitors but I can't figure out how or why.

Hi Steelwatch, I do not have any ISA's as I see them for the higher tax payers ! and not for the average Joe. My hope for my JIM shares is if i reach retirement age i can sell some each year for pocket money. So paying TAX should not be an issue !.

Im usualy wrong !

gsbmba99, Thanks for the heads up on SHRE trading update. Good to see volumes are still strong, and a 'general market buy back' day like today will only add to the volume count !. As you may have read, JIM are doing great with interest income at a low, but when interest rates do start to rise ! the profit from .... will add to our already strong dividend's.

Todays RNS included this line;

The Company also announces that, on 24(th) April 2017, it acquired 50,000 Ordinary Shares at a price of 382 pence per share to hold in Treasury ("Buy Back").

Trading update today from Share Centre. Their Q1 revenue was +20%. Within revenue, dealing commission was +41% on Q116, fee income +7% and interest income -37%. It's unclear how much was organic versus acquired. SHRE has received FCA approval to place "up to 60% of the firm's client money balances to be deposited for up to 95 days rather than the 30 day limit specified in the current Client Money rules". Not sure what JIM's position is. SHRE also cite "bouyant dealing volumes" and "positive outlook into the second quarter and beyond". Overall very good news for the 58% of JIM revenues derived from Fees & Commissions but interest income developments are concerning.

Sorry to read that John. There realy is no point in saving etc, we would be better off blowing it all as you earn or even not bother working all together and live off the state / us. Weldone on being able to give a cash wedding gift.

If the price is attractive for the directors to buy, its good for me to add A big £500 worth this morning. Gone down as a sell but i have been thinking the reported sells were in fact buys.

Hi Nigel, more consolidation to come ! so it would be nice if Jarvis got some up-lift from the action. With Sion holding such a large percentage Jarvis are safe from a sneeky T/O and I'm glad. The recient DRIP gave me another 77 shares towards my retirement fund ;-).
