09/3/2017 17:29 | Hi steelwatch, I am attracted to a share isa but I've never actually used one. Is it similar to the cash isa in that you can take out but you cant put back in for the same tax year if you have used your full allowance and also can cash divis go into the share isa or is it only scrip shares. Last question is it one company's share per isa or can you mix companies up to your limit. Thanks, MJ. | melton john
09/3/2017 16:53 | ten - makes no difference taxwise. Consider moving them into an ISA perhaps? If you haven't used up this year's full £15,240 allowance, move some now (bed & Isa) before end of this tax year and the rest in the next tax year when the ISA limit will be £20,000. If you do, remember to request the DRIP is set up again for the ISA, unless you just want dividends in cash. | steelwatch
08/3/2017 19:07 | DRIP tomorrow. Just for general information as i do not come close to getting £2,000 in dividends let alone £5,000 . Would the new £2,000 level make it even more sence to get a dividend by way of a DRIP or would the DRIP be counted with cash ?. Thanks. Regards | tenapen
03/3/2017 22:04 | Hi tenapen, if you edit your post and use Http, with a capital H it won't get changed to hxxp. | melton john
03/3/2017 19:16 | Another Offer from Jarvis. The corporate side of the business is so busy this year. I didn't count last years 'offers' but we must be close to that total and its only just turned March. Versarien plc , which is an existing AIM listed company, has announced a Fundraise, to raise up to approximately £1m at a subscription price of 15p per Ordinary Share, being a discount of approximately 6.25 per cent to Friday's closing mid-price. Thanks John, hope your good. Exciting times for JIM. I'm lookinh for another BIG 50 this week. | tenapen
20/2/2017 19:06 | Thanks John, I wonder how much Jarvis made from trades associated with the Kraft / Unilever non-deal ?. Looking at the Unilever google trades for the two days it looked a lot. That is the best thing about owning shares in a broker, good or bad news, T/O or IPO i just think to myself, Mmmmmmm ! more money in the bank for JIM. | tenapen
20/2/2017 15:00 | A snippet from the Small Cap Value Report on Stockopedia last Friday. My opinion: It&rsq Highly deserving of its current 15x PE ratio in my book, and probably a worth a bit more than that. If you aren't a subscriber, give a trial a go. Already paid me back with good info and opinions. | melton john
19/2/2017 19:48 | You need to look at the subsidiary company, Global Investment Strategy UK led by CEO John Gunn. I agree its earlier stage. Dividend policy soon hopefully. In the meantime, it's growing through a similar very low cost business model. | topvest
19/2/2017 19:18 | Absolutely right tenapen. You have to be patient and buy when it's quiet. Topvest, Octagonal looks a bit early stage for me, I had a quick look and there appears to have been a reverse takeover and capital reorg and lots of shares issued all in the last 2-3 yrs. Lots of intangibles on the balance sheet. Finally they don't pay a dividend and someone called David Lenigas is on the board. | melton john
18/2/2017 16:11 | Octagonal looks like a similar type of company to me. Low costs. High ROCE etc. | topvest
18/2/2017 14:32 | A perfect example of a picks and shovels company. I've made more money out of Jim than most jam tomorrow companies. One caveat however, liquidity can dry up so don't expect your cash on demand without dropping the price. Applies to any small cap really. | melton john
17/2/2017 19:45 | Hi John, Yes always good to have the results in good old fashioned white paper held together with one staple. 'Nailed on' alright :-) but i was amazed at the high level of positivity coming from the company. I will continue to buy as money allows. :-) Regards. | tenapen
17/2/2017 15:28 | As you said earlier, nailed on. Just going to start reading the report in detail. I do like paper, can't write notes on the screen. Last years convinced me to move a cash ISA into JIM shares and now 25% up as well as divis. | melton john
16/2/2017 19:45 | Fantastic. I have no words. | tenapen
16/2/2017 08:30 | Great results. A rock solid company. We should see an update to the IC tip based on higher eps. | melton john
16/2/2017 07:53 | Another excellent set of results. Very positive report by the chairman and bigger dividends to be paid out in the future. If they are making good profits now with interests rates so low the potential when interest rates do eventually rise is very significant. A very well managed company with a great future. Still a strong buy in my opinion. Well done JIM | nickk1
15/2/2017 14:52 | Hi Steelwatch, just noticed your post, minutes before mine. Good point with the DRIP but i was nervous when we were hovering above 300p even though the DRIP was good. Better for me to be around the 400p mark with room for movements up & down. I am working away tomorrow and no phone signal until I return. It will be a long day with the results in the back of my mind. Regards. | tenapen
15/2/2017 14:21 | SP - 400p + Exciting times. | tenapen
15/2/2017 14:19 | Good to see the recovery continues, albeit our DRIPS will be reduced :0{ | steelwatch
07/2/2017 20:13 | Jarvis Investment Management has been appointed as an 'intermediary' for the forthcoming LXI REIT plc Intermediary Offer. | tenapen
06/2/2017 19:56 | I feel optimistic, markets have been very busy. | melton john
06/2/2017 19:06 | Rock 'n' Roll Bring on next weeks results. | tenapen
06/2/2017 16:08 | Up on Q1 last year ☺ | steelwatch |
