08/9/2014 13:51 | Had a quick play with the new site. At least once you are logged in the website doesn't boot you out after 200 seconds of inactivity like the old site. That's about the only upside though. The trading form just plain sucks. First you have to lookup the security which takes a long time and often comes back with unrecognised security even though you select it from a drop down list - eg SUMM.L Some securities just cant be entered - for example CAPD.L - I just cannot find a way to enter this security on the trading form. CAPD does not work CAPD.L does not work Capital does not work. Capital Drilling does not work Yet it sure exists on the LSE and can be found on their site via all of the above search terms. If they'd used standard forms then my browser could have auto-filled my password but they've decided against that so now I have to re-enter my password for each trade - this could lead people to opt for easier to enter cryptographically weak passwords - Im certainly thinking of changing mine to something easier to enter... IMO, this just has not been well thought through nor tested and makes me question the competency of those who developed it. The security while superficially improved may well be full of holes under the hood. | phowdo
08/9/2014 12:53 | shame this has hacked off a few investors. I managed to activate both my accounts in one process with no problems. Personally I like the new website and also welcome the added security. Still think this is a decent company and I'll be staying put | shrout
08/9/2014 12:34 | If you can't get through on the support number quoted, try another number - e.g., dealing desk - who will transfer you. Then you may have to hold several minutes judging from my experience earlier. | steelwatch
08/9/2014 12:06 | Basically no different to security logging on to my on-line bank account, and there is a facility to go back in and change security phrase and password to something more memorable as often as you like via the Help and Administration tab after logging in. Personally, I welcome the added security in a world where cyber crime gets ever more sophisticated. | steelwatch
02/9/2014 12:16 | New on-line trading platform should be launched on 06/09/2014 | steelwatch
28/7/2014 17:47 | Thanks NickK1. | steelwatch
28/7/2014 15:58 | Very good write up about Jarvis by Simon Thompson in the I.C. with a buy recommendation and a target price of between 580 and 600 with plenty of upside from there. Excellent analysis of the present position and a very detailed report. Simon Thompson is very keen on JIM - well worth a read. | nickk1
28/7/2014 13:31 | In previously uncharted territory now. | steelwatch
24/7/2014 18:00 | I feel for the people who paniced and sold over the last week or so. The result always were going to be good IMO. Money is tight so I never had a chance to buy a few on the dip. Hae Ho. :) | tenapen
24/7/2014 09:33 | Target price from W.H,. Ireland now 560. Buy recommendation. | nickk1
24/7/2014 08:07 | Well done JIM. Further progress. Remember the big dividend is the next one. If interest rates start to rise JIM will do very well indeed with all that cash on deposit. Excellent management. | nickk1
24/7/2014 07:15 | Another excellent set of results :) | steelwatch
16/7/2014 20:38 | I read today that there were 61 IPO's in the first six months of 2014. The results are before 14 August 2014 later than last years . :) | tenapen
14/7/2014 22:39 | I have done well on JIM shares because I bought them. I don't want to knock the company but I think if they are going to go higher from here it will need some spade work they should be listening to shareholders. | 4spiel
14/7/2014 19:30 | phowdo - Faux pas corrected ;-> | steelwatch
14/7/2014 17:58 | From a past RNS they flagged a change of platform where it will be possible to trade on 'tablets' and 'mobile phones'. Exciting Times :) | tenapen
14/7/2014 13:24 | Exciting change would be -cheaper still-they have low cost competitors now. Ever tried to transfer in a cash ISA online ? | 4spiel
14/7/2014 10:49 | From X-O homepage: "We will soon be making announcing some exciting changes to our online trading platform." (sic) Great that they will be updating the platform. Shame they couldn't get someone to proofread that sentence before publishing it on the website. It just makes them appear amateurish. | phowdo
12/7/2014 13:39 | No its not a fabrication -they sent me on one day recently three notifications of no great importance in 3 separate envelopes (!) that could have been sent easily by email and I was annoyed. I once some time ago asked them on a previous occasion and was told that they were instructed to send by post. This indicates a lack of grip on costs to me and is it not right to point it out. Personally I am not keen on adding at current price but continue to hold some come what may ! | 4spiel
11/7/2014 17:17 | "getting" make's out that Jarvis as just started sending out post. But hae Ho any fabrication will do !. Results soon so we will see. Thanks 4 your spiel and have a good weekend, All | tenapen
11/7/2014 11:46 | With the 15K ISA how many small investors take their money out of equity portfolios and into cash ISA in the hope of higher rates. How much will it affect JIM ?Jarvis has some good points but they are also getting wasteful like sending far to many corporate action notes totally unnecessarily through the post when emails save time paper and high postage charges. They also have a Drip but don't carry forward residual cash to provide more shares. A recent good story but they seem to be getting complacent -they don't take any notice of suggestions and maybe the CEO is resting having sold a lot of shares in his maturity -maybe we get a buying opportunity soon at a more attractive yield. Top up at 380-400p | 4spiel |
