We are delighted to confirm that Jarvis Investment Management has been appointed as an 'intermediary for private investors' which means that you will be able to apply for shares through us once the Prospectus has been published.

mj - my "Never look back" remark was aimed at myself, not you. Had I waited, I could have sold less to achieve the same result, but you've gotta have money in the bank Frank.

I presume you don't mean my last point, wanting to buy in again is wrong.
I have a choice whether to buy now and watch the share price flat line to the next divi or worse drift down as people who are sitting on a 100% profit cash it in to take advantage of capital gains allowance for this year. To the best of my knowledge putting shares in an ISA only protects future gains and divis from tax. My feeling is that the share price will drop between Christmas and the next tax year and this will be a re-entry opportunity. Whatever happens I feel your dividends and long term growth are safe so you have no need to worry. We'll see whether someone with bills to pay after Christmas will sell me their shares as in previous years, obviously you won't be buying if you're fully invested.

Melton John,
I appreciate your points but I think you are wrong. The price of the shares reflects the earnings and/or potential future earnings. My view is that JIM should go up to 450 to 500 based on the earnings and dividend stream. If interest rates rise then even higher. I expect they will be a tasty take over morsel for another company at some stage with their ever growing customer list - PI and institutional.
I have held these since before Sion - 2nd Residential Property. and very happy to keep holding and enjoying the increasing dividends and share price. What more could you ask for in an investment.
DYOR etc.

Dear Reader,

The FT/IC Investment Awards are designed to identify stockbrokers and financial service providers that offer excellent service and good value for money.

The awards, which will be announced later this year, are based on what you tell us about your stockbroker and other service providers.

Your votes allow us to identify those brokers/providers who achieve excellence in their field, and those who don't.

The questionnaire should take just a few minutes to complete.

Everyone who completes the questionnaire by 13 September 2013 will be entered into our free prize draw with the chance to win £1,000. None of the data collected will be traceable to any respondent.

Thank you,

Rosie Carr,

Hi Steelwatch, not angry I've done OK. Held since Sion on Ofex at the equivalent of 50p if I remember correctly and reinvested the divis to build up a decent amount. It's been very volatile over the years and I missed a few chances to trade especially when Edmett was around, hence wanting not to miss out again.
Like all investors, I either sell too soon or don't sell and regret it. Some successful investor whose name escapes me said "I've made a lot of money by selling too soon". I'm wary of buying at the present price with so much recent gain in the share price although at some point I would like to buy in again.

Because he was asked to sell 250,000 at £4 not 6 million or 1 million. He wouldn't sell at less than he thought they were worth and hence my view that the price is about right. They are about 20 times earnings and 3% yield.
The option exercise also seems to confirm that someone close thinks the price is at a peak.

"sold 250,000 Ordinary Shares in Jarvis at a price of 400p. Sion sold the shares in order to match demand in the market following a recent series of meetings with institutional investors."

Mr Grant had 6 million shares -the amount he sold amounts to 4%. If he sells a million at 440 that would be more like it but if he dos not expect it why did he keep 96%.

I'm pleased for you chaps, I sold a bit soon but have held these for years and seen many a spike which fell back.
I'm hoping for a pull back as the recent sale by Andrew Grant and the option exercise seem to say the price is about right.
