pvb - I think the problem may be with digital look, the external provider. I only use the sharedealactive (or X-O) sites for logging in and out to trade, check whether orders have been filled and make payments generally as all research facilities I use are mostly on advfn. You could try emailing Jarvis to establish what the problem is, but I can confirm having similar problems now I come to look at it.

I mean share Information and the share Charts on Sharedeal Active. Clicking on either button in a portfolio gives: "No stock information is available for that name".

Going via Market News gives the same result.

Following the site 'upgrade' it seems mostly to be working again, but I still cannot reliably get access to stock Information or Charts. Anyone having similar problems?

Looking at the Hargreaves Lansdown and Brewin Dolp web home pages, both sites do not (as yet) advertise the Merlin IPO. Could Jarvis be part of an select group ?. HL are still showing the Royal Mail offer, Ho dear.

Err.. now I've just been paid an apparently incorrect amount of cash for a share tender. What's going on?

PS No! My bad, I miscalculated the amount accepted in the tender. Cash is correct.

I just tried a quote and got it straight back, however, we need enough capacity to deal at busy times so I hope that they have some software which is monitoring failed transactions and are keeping an eye on that. 8am can be vital to buy or sell and we need confidence.

Just logged in, got two quotes in a row and did one trade successfully, all within the last 10 mins. No time outs.

One out of ten success rate in getting a quote this morning!!

Not good, I came to JIM because I wanted on online system. What use it if you can't deal in a timely manner? The telephone handling can't take over the load from my experience.
Come on Mr Grant, you need to get more capacity for web transactions. The back office side is great but we don't need that if we can't deal.

People can always telephone trade if they need to trade !

Given that the system for on-line trading has been as much use as an ejector seat on a helicopter, they could have been working on it all week if that would have helped. That makes me think that the problem lies with the trading system that the JIM platform partners with (used to be TDW but they appear to have changed).

Was informed by a dealer as ShareDeal Active that the matter would not be resolved until next which one hopes that means the engineers will be working vigorously on it over the weekend, totally shambolic performance this week.....

Me too, the response from the server is instantaneous for a non trading transaction like portfolio valuation, just the quotation and dealing that isn't happening. Stuck in a queue until it times out.
Absolute pants, and no update. The apology notice has gone from the screen when it's obviously still broken. I'm not hopeful of a fix over the weekend given nothing to pin my hopes on.

If you regularly trade/invest I think its worth having a couple of online brokers just so the occasional upsets like this don't make you see red.

Perhaps they can fix the problems over the weekend with markets closed. Annoying for those needing to trade, but an isolated instance in the overall scheme of things. Shame they couldn't have reverted to a backup of the old platform.

I've been looking at Charles Stanley who were my broker before I went to on-line.
They now do on-line and I was always pleased with the service.

Update: spoke to a dealer who said they are still experiencing intermittent problems & it is being worked on, also they are having to deal with a lot of irate traders, now why does that not surprise me. Any other recommendations for dealing accounts with reasonable charges?
