26/7/2010 10:42 | Hope the predictability includes a special dividend at Christmas? | lundhousegreen
26/7/2010 10:17 | Getting a bit predictable these updates ; always good news, rather dull. | wad collector
23/7/2010 08:08 | Yes, slight caution about raw material prices, understandably currently. Happy overall, though. | lundhousegreen
23/7/2010 07:40 | confident trading update, albeit a couple of caveats. I'm happy enough though. | alter ego
23/7/2010 07:39 | James Halstead expects to achieve market expectations for another record year for profits. | lundhousegreen
20/7/2010 12:04 | JHD sell a lot more flooring overseas than in the UK. The last (interim) report showed that geographically, the UK was down by 3.2% but international sales rose by 13.5%. Germany was up 9.5%, Australia up 6.7% and New Zealand up 2%. There were some good growth trends in other markets, e.g. France + 37% and Asia & Hong Kong +80%. Some areas saw lower demand, e.g. the Club Med territories, but these are small markets in the scheme of things. Cheers zeppo. Hope you and your investments are well? | lundhousegreen
20/7/2010 11:01 | I wonder if the Govt cutbacks will impact on these? | ducatiman
20/7/2010 10:59 | lundhousegreen You did well to focus on this company when it was well below the current price. Another share split would be excellent news. z | zeppo
19/7/2010 16:09 | Pre-Close Trading Update due any day now. Last year it was on the 29th July. They had a 2 for 1 split last time the share price was in this region. | lundhousegreen
19/7/2010 13:16 | 645 today I think is all time high. What a star! Positive sentiment abut this summers results? | wad collector
10/6/2010 09:16 | I just filled in my Tax Return - impressed how big last yrs dividends were from JHD. Only wish I could put the Capitsl Gains into my ISA.HMG were wavering about making AIM shares ISAble , a statement is still awaited I think. | wad collector
17/5/2010 10:38 | James Halstead was a weaving manager for J Mandelberg & Co and was branching out on his own at weekends. He was rumbelled and set up on his own in 1915. Within 2 months he incorporated the company. 1915 it is!! | bda3490
19/4/2010 09:23 | You mean 1911? Have a look at in the "about us" section and says company formed in 1915. But maybe worth you contacting them for clarification? Nice rise to 615p mid this morning , +10p, after trying for weeks to break the £6 barrier. I hope it will stay above that level. | lundhousegreen
19/4/2010 09:12 | I think the centenary is earlier. The company incorporated in 1915 but was started in 2011 | bda3490
07/4/2010 17:33 | A 2015 Centenary special dividend sounds good. Maybe you should suggest that to the directors at the next AGM ? (after we hopefully collect this year's special?????) JHD mid price back to £6, and only a 10p spread. | lundhousegreen
06/4/2010 19:57 | lundhousegreen Any special divi would be most welcome. I am targetting 2015 for a 'real special' as that I believe is the centenary of the company. Wish I had more but as I am retired I am happy to have a reasonably balanced and reasonably defensive income portfolio. JHD are amongst the star performers. Certainly they deserve an Oscar. They are a very hard act to follow. z | zeppo
06/4/2010 17:30 | For me personally, I have recently been adding again as a long term hold for excellent dividends and growth over the next few years. Better percentage dividend versus interest in the bank. This company has nil gearing, £41+ million in the bank , and if the WH Ireland forecast is correct, further record dividends will be paid. (2012 estimate 32p per share for the year.) If JHD do not take over another company or use some of the £41m as investment in plant, machinery, buildings, etc., we may just be lucky and get another special dividend at Christmas. Now that would be nice! | lundhousegreen
06/4/2010 16:25 | Just noticed last weeks results. You were right about this one LHG.Let me know when you want me to sell. | wad collector
01/4/2010 14:49 | I note that WH Ireland have reitterated their BUY stance, but upped the target price from 745p to 785p. | lundhousegreen
31/3/2010 07:53 | Another great set of results IMO. Interim results........... | lundhousegreen
24/3/2010 11:29 | Such is the way with stocks. A seller lets his execution only trade go and the market makers win on the large spread. 1000 shares and all that drop. I suppose it goes up just as quick but 30p spread !!! Results on Wednesday, and I see WH Ireland have issued a note guesing a 6.6% increase in pre tax profit. Construction, manufacturing and recession but still up - I hope so. Cash will be interesting after all that cap ex and dividend | bda3490 |
