ignore that post reopening the RNS on a different website loaded it properly. Websites loading half a bulletpoint in an rns is a bit dodgy. guess ill stick to ADVFN for the RNS, the "<" sign in the RNS cut off the rest of the sentence.

how much of the 20,000bop/d is hedged? 50% is tied to the point of agreement?

still hoping for 40p by year end.

Woodside's merger with BHP's Energy Division in 2022 made the enlarged entity one of the world's top ten energy independents.

Now they have Santos in their sights - would make the CWLH fields even more non-core for Woodside.

RNS today - Woodside Energy Group

RESPONSE TO MEDIA SPECULATION

'In response to recent media speculation, Woodside confirms it is in discussions regarding a potential merger with Santos Ltd.

Discussions remain confidential and incomplete, and there is no certainty that the discussions will lead to a transaction.

As a global energy company, Woodside continuously assesses a range of opportunities to create and deliver value for shareholders.

Woodside will continue to update the market in accordance with its continuous disclosure obligations.'

Share price has done very well since August.

Been taking a beating since 2022 & 2023 errors, carrying the baggage from that, needs some time to get the new momentum rolling, financially.

Patience.

It seems the market is NOT looking forward with Jadestone. If it was the shareprice wouldn't be where it is.

I am looking forward to the re-rating!

First though Montara needs to behave and Akatara needs to come in more or less as planned.

Possibly - although the market tends to look forward - but I'd expect rates across the curve to come down in which case we should see logic come back.

The first quarter 2024 is likely to see interest rates start to come down in the US and Europe. The decline in rates will likely be slow (certainly slower than it could or should be) but it will point to better times ahead. I wouldn't be surprised if a market rally coincided.

Nah it's just risk off with oil stocks at the moment with no clear direction in which way oil is going to trend into 2024 with current global events.

Disappointing response to a very positive update. Perhaps the market is still cautious regardinf further potential setbacks

As flagged earlier. Management were in town and presenting to instos yesterday. That and the positive update first attempt to relaunch the story. They are talking about upside on Akatara and also recent drilling success. Asked why they were so wrong pre drill they said they were relying on very old seismic. Should be further upside when they start more infill. Won't be until 2025 though.

Very encouraging to see a rising price supported by strong volume.

Has the hallmarks of some of the shorts throwing in the towel after the last RNS.
