And btw , my in price is 103p . It’s been a total disaster of an investment for me so of course I want what’s best for ITV…..imho we need the end of the advertising recession more than any board changes. So UK inflation dropping is absolutely key to the shares recovering (with subsequent rate cuts).

“ . Since putting things on the back burner he says they would have built a stake large enough to have fund managers on board.”

Hee’s why you can’t listen to this gibberish, (& I’m in the fortunate position of having run a trading desk at a large U.S. broker for many years).

GF would have you believe that the mystery buyer (who’s been bidding imminently for 2 years), has now got a large stake. I suppose it depends on your definition of what large means , but disclosure rules aren’t grey. You have to file at 3%. Nobody has , so either it’s total BS , or the stake (accumulated over 2 years) is less than 3%.
Secondly , (and more importantly), is the share price. The lower it goes , the less likely UK fund managers are to sell…. Saying a mystery bidder has a large stake (actually less than 3%) and this will get fund managers on board is tosh. As discussed before , they wouldn’t countenance anything less than 125-150p , which is a million miles from happening with the shares at 58p. There’s no getting anyone on board , apart from the gullible giving him ,(GF) , the time of day. Perhaps he should change his name to nick nack?

Always interesting how quickly retail jump on anyone critical of a company, yet anyone promising good things is taken to be genuine (even after a three year track record of getting everything wrong)...

How can anyone believe anything that comes out that lying mouth?Several people here actually believe itv has been under accumulation for three years under the nose of the market whilst mental patients have been spreading the word? That is after every deadline the mental patient gave came and went and the can was duly kicked.People like that should not be allowed to invest in the stock market.I can guarantee whatever he is promising will fail again and if it were not for the fact that believers were fools already they would be made to look like fools.

Thanks goldfinger, I don't understand the nuts and bolts, but with few shares available the share price has not moved from the 60p range and before that the 62p range all the way down from 70p.

About half hour ago I was talking to a friend who is well informed on Media stocks. It was just before 7am US time. His opinion is the ITV acquisition was put on the back burner due to lack of cooperation in UK government circles.

While talking he was tracking ITV share trades on his screen and said 'the share price is being driven down' and any person savvy in how markets work can see it. He added that the small volumes are indicative that they are purloining enough stock to wage an action. Since putting things on the back burner he says they would have built a stake large enough to have fund managers on board.

I am relaying the conversation, make what you like of it and I couldn't give a toss what the naysayers think.

Anyway friends stay long and buy...patience my dear fellows will be rewarded.

Important dates in February:
Tue 13 US inflation figures
Wed 14 UK inflation figures
Hopefully we are back below 4% and the market will be happy.

ITV have announced that last month, January 2024, was their record for ITVX streams at 315m. That's over 10m every day on average! Surely, sooner or later the market will see what a success ITVX is and the share price rerates upwards.
Also with Google turning off 3rd party cookies by the end of Q3 2024 (which will make internet advertising a lot less effective), this should help TV advertising considerably..
As such, I believe ITV's future is a lot more promising than what the share price suggests. I don't want to sound like Goldfinger, but its looking good from this low point.
