I’m afraid McCall had been a disaster. Anyone can look at the share price and make up their mind. Down nearly 65% during her time & if you factor in inflation that’s even worse. Sooner she goes the better unless she has some up her sleeve but in the absence of any statement I assume she hasn’t got anything positive to say . I see 45p after a dividend cut and like the rest of you will be in the red

ITV dividend, a MF view

Dividends aren’t guaranteed payments in the same way a bond coupon is. This means that ITV could decide to cut the dividend based on future financial performance.

If I assume the share price stays the same, I can get a rough guide. So for 2024, the forecast yield would be 8.5%. For 2025, this could rise to 9%. As we currently stand, that would make it one of the highest yielding stocks in the entire FTSE 250.

Aside from the pure numbers, could ITV fundamentally deliver on such forecasts? A good measure of this is the dividend cover. This looks at how many times the dividend per share can be covered by the latest earnings. For ITV, it stands at 2.64. Any number larger than one is a positive, so this figure is more than comfortable.

ITV earnings are robust. Even though traditional advertising revenue fell 1% year on year, growth in in-house production (ITV Studios) was impressive. This growth was noted both in the UK market and in the US.

On the basis that this division, along with streaming, can continue to grow and support the decline in ad revenue, I don’t see any major problem for future earnings. As a mature company, a key way that the business can keep shareholders engaged is via dividend payments.

8.4% yield. Just crazy.

Smurfy...But how safe is that dividend, share price slips daily, disaster prone CEO, advertising is dead, main board member sold £600k worth of shares recently, so all in all I wouldn't bet on that dividend.

I hope it's safe, but I wouldn't hold my breath, anything less and we will see a freefall.

From Goldfinger ..
"From the horse's mouth March 7th numbers will be boosted by a very bullish statement from the Dame."

If she is using her normal woke presenting style then that's probably going to drop the share price another 10% no matter how positive any news might be. She is an abysmal leader of a collection of clowns all with their snouts in the trough.

A reduction in the headcount of ITV by 25% might be a good starter for ten, followed by the announcement that ITV are starting a significant share buy back whilst the share price is on its @rse. Perhaps that's been her plan all the time.

Volumes have calmed down but the share price keeps tanking, back to Covid lows. ITV board and CEO need a hard kick up the backside.

Justice if you believe that something or someone is pushing down the share price it isn't difficult when there's not many genuine sellers. Thin volumes with millions sold in UT's after close are sometimes an indication that trades are being manipulated.

Deflating the price of a share can be achieved by placing a significantly large amount of small orders at a price that is lower than the current market price of that share.

Is it manipulation who knows the answer, but a share that continually goes down on no business can make small investors interpret it as a signal that there is something wrong with the company. DYOR

BBC are aware of the success of ITVx, they have to keep lol.up.

From the horse's mouth March 7th numbers will be boosted by a very bullish statement from the Dame.

Stay long friends. Patience will reap rewards and I will be proven correct.

I'm just old fashioned and feel TV companies should make decent, quality programmes that people want to watch. They are all cash-strapped and should use their resources wisely, not try to compete with US companies, many of whom pay few taxes.
