It has been going a bit sideways for a while.

Amen Stag.
100% agree.

As an aside, the only reason we got the "limited oven ready" brexit deal was because traitor May and all those quisling MPs that refused to accept the June 2016 / GE 2017 votes and spent 24/7 trying to undermine our efforts to Leave the EU.

stag I would agree with you, John Major was so in love with the EU, he along with Blair gave them whatever they asked for.

We went into a Common Market which was for trade purposes, we ended up being ruled by the Brussels bureaucrats.

The EU want to punish us so that no other country leaves. If we fare ok outside the EU, it will be so very bad for Germany and France, who aren't looking too good at the moment.

With Merkel and Macron on their way out, the EU will soon be courting us as a major trade ally, wait and see, they need us as much as we need them.

stan...getting out of the EU was the best thing that we could do, just thank yourself lucky we didn't adopt the Euro. I can't think of any one great thing that being in the EU did for us. Of course they want to punish us, we were their piggy bank.

We were shafted at every turn, the useless, hapless John Major took us into the ERM, that caused us so much harm. Remember Major ran around like a headless chicken as George Soros and the hedge funds were making a billion pounds that should have gone on schools and hospitals.

We have systematically been paying through the nose for years, the time has now come when we show the world that we are fine on our own. We are first out, how long before it has to reform before the whole thing implodes.

I do believe any future UK Government of indeed any new Tory leader will re-negotiate a better closer deal with the EU.
It's only a matter of time.
Boris's 'oven ready' deal was only half cooked!
Re-negotiation will be an economic and social imperative.
Difficult for Boris to admit given he sold this path to the nation but easier for someone new to the role
But I digress and apologise for doing so.
Let's hope a ITV are not adversely impacted by our current trading relationship with the EU.
The UK is still a divided Nation on Brexit - backed up by research on today's Bloomberg.

The EU is so intent on punishing Uk for leaving, it is now resorting to ridiculous tactics. I was a staunch remainer but now believe the Brexit was the best. They want to stop GB exporting to N Ireland more to safeguard their precious single market than to protect the Good Friday Agreement.

Can’t imagine this would ever be agreed by all EU states as they all love British programmes. Even if it did it would have minimal affect on ITV revenues

Always possible after Boris’s limited trade deal but let’s hope the deal and relationships start to improve or the deal get’s renegotiated.
Could negatively impact today’s share price but let’s hope not as this seems to be speculation?

spot on jimbullquestion is though is the so called silent majority actually the majority and do they matter more than the loud minority?the way corporations and politicians are behaving would suggest they see the woke brigade as most important, unfortunately....

nigebritbox is a drain on finances, its likely - not guaranteed - to continue like that so you have arrived at the point i was going to make, if 300p is dreamland and an offer at 200-220 is not going to happen it leads to the thinking its now or neverso the higher the share price goes the more unlikely an offer becomes, im tending to think no offer now and will be happy with the share price 140-180 and modest divis, over 5-10 years that will do for me given i bought most of my shares below 60p the effective yield could be 15%

Stan, I don't think that anyone would bid for ITV if the share price recovers to 200p. Unless ITV were in very good growth, this would have to result in BritBox being a success story, the jury is still out on that one. If no one bids at around the current share price 125p or as high as 150p, then it's unlikely to happen.

I'm of the opinion regarding the recent ADR activity that someone in the USA is possibly stake building ITV and prepared to pay a higher premium to the UK price. Maybe it's someone who has already built a 4.99% UK holding and now building 14.99% USA stake without having to disclose their hand. This is the only explanation I can think of regarding the recent very high volume of shares traded in the ADR's.

tend to agree, but if true it doesnt leave much room for takeout premium if share price does move towards 200?

thanks for postingthere is a good chance that divis and share price apprciation over a few years would be more valuable than a takeover...of course if that led to takeout price of 300p fair enough, but people would take a quick 170...
