15/11/2020 20:49 | The ghost of Cautious7? | alex1621
15/11/2020 19:11 | We would gain viewers if the ghost was to make an appearance. You do know that one or more of the contestants will be hearing the ghost at night. Lol | nige co
15/11/2020 18:24 | Interesting night: "I'm a celebrity get me out of here" will share peak viewing time with "The Crown" on Netflix (the new series). I suspect ITV will win by miles. | netcurtains
15/11/2020 12:14 | Anybody use stop losses? and any tech way of knowing where to set them (percentage price oscillation, bollinger, SMA envelopes, etc).Given the issues I had last week with online trader platforms crashing I don't want to lose what profits I've gained so far with my recovery stocks if there's some future downside event (not saying there will be!).ThanksPs I'm longer term rather than trader | discodave45
15/11/2020 12:07 | ITV is now vulnerable to a low ball bid.Now everyone knows the TV advertising market has turned and the industry production issues given the pandemic, I believe ITV will be very vulnerable to a low ball bid either from private equity or possibly LG until the share price rises to pre-pandemic levels. It's going to be an interesting period but without a quick pricing recovery a 125-135p bid would secure things. | boix
14/11/2020 21:06 | Making it a profitable and growing operation ... whatever number of subs leads to that. I think they are going in the right direction with this because it may well be that in the near future all television will be streamed, and advertising may become less and less important. Not that long ago Netflix sent DVD's through the post! Their business has been completely transformed by the internet, and the next iteration of 5 and 6 G will transform this industry even further. If ITV remains independent I reckon it will be a completely different business 5-10 years from now, and streaming will play a big part. | alex1621
14/11/2020 17:24 | alexhow many subs and thus earnings is working well?i would like to see them put love island on it, but they would rather have the itv2 advertising from it | stansmith3
14/11/2020 16:23 | alex1621: But "babyboomers" have all the money - its the audience ITV really needs and is getting. "once upon a time in the Midlands" "trainspotting" "brassed off" "secrets & lies" (Timothy Spall) etc etc etc | netcurtains
14/11/2020 15:40 | I'm afraid baby Yoda beats baby boomers. | alex1621
14/11/2020 13:33 | I think BritBox can work well if it begins to air new and exclusive content, particularly if one of those shows has an impact, like House of Cards, Downton Abbey, etc. But I've never viewed it as a direct competitor to Netflix or Disney. My base expectation is that ITV will eventually be consumed by a larger operator. The Government are introducing tougher hurdles for foreign M&A. It struck my mind that foreign companies might accelerate their plans to get in before the legislation is in place? Just a thought. | alex1621
14/11/2020 06:21 | It's not equivalent. BritBox is more niche, targeted at an English speaking audience, whereas the big streaming services are aimed at an international audience. Like comparing Diageo to Brew Dog. | alex1621
14/11/2020 05:17 | disney+ now 4.3m subscribers in uk - 73m worldwideoh britbox.... | stansmith3
13/11/2020 19:55 | hhh1: That was my thoughts too. Got to be in it to win it. | netcurtains
13/11/2020 19:40 | There are plenty of bargains out there still, am happy holder here but spread the risk and potential gains across other shares, sitting on cash profits in this market will just leave me behind IMO. Make money work for you | hamhamham1
13/11/2020 19:23 | I sold nearly 32000 just before the close which was half my non isa shares. I was reluctant but I’m just too exposed here with 100k total before the sale. I believe I will regret it but if it falls back next week I’ll buy them back. I’ve sold total stakes in BT, LLOYDS and BATS this last few days for good profits but only to see them rise a little more. I just need to reduce risk but still believe FTSE and ITV massively cheap. 13/11/2020 19:23 | Dow steady up today, more rises monday for ftse. | hamhamham1
13/11/2020 19:05 | This will get to 150-200p, those who have sold most all will say no, but true there are other shares out there which can 2x or 3x or 4x. It's disappointing when you see those who have sold talk down the prospects of their previous investment. A classic exponent of that is Monty. | hamhamham1
13/11/2020 16:58 | Inevitable? I think you guys are getting out at the start of the run, whilst thinking you're at the end. | alex1621
13/11/2020 16:37 | if it gets to 100p then thats my final dumpbeen a tremendous run from the 50s. sold the majority in the 80s, granted, a bit early but will prob buy back on the inevitable pullback | scepticalinvestor
13/11/2020 16:28 | Blue sky to 140p Get if you desire | nobilis
13/11/2020 16:27 | get to 100p theres a good lad | nobilis
13/11/2020 16:24 | BARCLAYS RAISES ITV PRICE TARGET TO 100 (80) PENCE - 'EQUAL WEIGHT' | hamhamham1 |
