just been watching a bit of telly and was just wondering whether the advertisers have got the demographics of this country completely wrong or are the ads multi national and dubbed for various country's (america, africa etc.)

ITV are more than just an advertiser, McCall got a lot of criticism when she arrived at ITV and began to make changes. McCall has diversified with the studios and Britbox and went out to attract smaller companies to advertise on TV.

Her approach to making ITV a major supplier of studio rentals at a time when production companies were working flat out to make television and then came Covid 19 and lockdowns. Next weeks results only have to reflect these changes and show the company has weathered the storm.

I am long here, so to quote the Bard, I will await with bated breath.

I sometimes feel I'm the only one on planet earth who does not care a t*ss about USA elections. I'm much more interested in the Myanmar election to be held tomorrow. ANOTEHR GE where workers can vote on a SUNDAY!!!!
The UK is about the most anti-democratic system.... THURSDAY elections means Pensioners have FOUR TIMES more time to vote then a worker.
As a result of this we have not had a truely left wing government in the UK since Harold Wilson!!!!

My bad!
She didn't give the speech on the night.
Basically she delayed it so she could write a rabble rousing speech to her followers.

And if they do make a big thing about Trump not making a losers speech, let's remind ourselves that Hilary Clinton refused to do one in 2016.

What is dangerous is Trumps tone, calling it fraud, etc, that will leave his supporters bitter for years.

scep

each state has its own rules for counting ballots

overseas ballots are still arriving

california for example has only counted 80% of its ballots,

this is entirely normal, its only an issue when its close

and then you have trump who saw to it in court that absentee ballots could not start being counted until election day to go along with his set up that the election was stolen from him, as on the day votes and first to be counted hugely favoured him - the dems asked their voters to vote by mail

and in any case he was going to complain and try it on

its completely transparent to everyone other than trumptards

Q3 Trading Statement next week, 12th

ITV – Nicholas Hyett, Equity Analyst
The all-consuming question where ITV is concerned is what has happened to corporate advertising spend. Advertising spend fell 43% in the second quarter, and while we know online advertising has recovered more recently, whether that extends to more traditional advertising venues is as yet unclear.

We are more hopeful about the performance of ITV’s Studios business, which produces both scripted and unscripted content for ITV and third party broadcasters at home and abroad. While the first lockdown meant many productions were put on hold, we suspect it will also have seen viewers burn through back-catalogue material, increasing demand for new content. ITV will be hoping that boosts activity going forwards.

Unfortunately a second wave of lockdowns around the world won’t be doing the group any favours. And honestly we think these results could be pretty difficult. The debt position at the half year wasn’t dreadful, at 1.3 times cash profits, but the group can ill afford more cash outflows this quarter if conditions remain challenging going into 2021.

It was brilliant.
Obviously closed for a bit but they will be back!

MAB:

They own loads of places like this. PE just 4.
Not many bargains left - this appears to be one of them!

PS - ITV is my largest holding at the moment!
