Day Trading...
I'm doing some stats (should take a week to run)
I'm getting info of entire ftse 100 and ftse 250

Getting prices at 9:30am, 10:30am, 12:30pm and 4:30pm
This should tell me if average stock falls 3% in the morning
what percent rise in the afternoon and by high much..

Do you have this percentage already ?

ameretto1: Clearly covid news had affect - However its difficult to say by how much. So many FTSE100 companies were up yesterday that no clear picture comes to mind. For example: Some big advertisers (Sainsburys) were up, Vodafone up. The we have the case of whitbread. One would have thought they would fall bigger than us (hotels restaurants etc) but just 2%.
I think on relection probably three things:
covid, profit taking and moving into FTSE250.

two of those three things have done and dusted so still could be a good week next week, depends on weekend news though.

I was hoping to buy at 68+ P on Friday but it didn't pan out. I'll see what happens over the next few days but im certainly looking at buying again. This Bloody Covid-19 is making things a little tricky.

We'll see who was right by about Wednesday (when dust settles).

A) Was it due to last lot of FTSE100 tracker funds having to sell on Friday?
If so will expect rapid bounce back (and higher) by about Wednesday

B) Was it due to worries about Covid spike?
If so will expect it to flat line or fall back further by Wednesday

My monies on (A) - literally.

ITVs recent trading pattern has and will in the future be unusually affected by the demotion from the FTSE as well as many as yet unknown factors.

I don't wholly disagree with any of that BOIXI just don't see the point in paying more than you need to.Stan's an angry and blinkered wally. He just want's his confirmation bias massaged that's all... Unfortunately nothing moves up or down in straight lines. If only they did though, it would be a lot easier wouldn't it?

If you had asked me in April I probably would have agreed with your conclusions. But the evidence is that this is very different from 2007/08.1. ITV is a very different more efficient company considerably less dependent on advertising revenues.2. TV advertising revenues have recovered from April lows to 2007/08 declines and improving further.ITV is now ridiculously cheap and now especially vulnerable to a foreign takeover given low valuation combined with weak sterling.
