Yeah HD via Sky (+ now tv?) or Amazon. But the pic on my 32" Is fine without it.
Anyway the yoof of today don't watch any catch up tv on anything larger than a 9 inch screen??

Technically ITV Hub seems way behind BBC iPlayer. Isn't the free Hub still SD (unless you get it via Sky)? Even the subscription ITV Hub+ is only HD. BBC iPlayer is gradually getting more UHD HDR material.

ddgood pointsthis is where scale or huge resources comes in, if britbox had more subscribers they could afford to put programmes on britbox only, thus causing more subscribers...so im here for the covid recovery and that will do :)

stanWouldn't disagree.Just looking at basics and with a simple perspective (that's me!) their total revenue has a 5% compound annual growth rate but operating margins (%) have been declining (low 20's to 16 last FY) which overall results in fairly flat earnings growth - they need to cut costs (stating the obvious) to stand still or substantially increase their income streams. Perhaps that's the fundamental problem, no vision of where this growth will come from, until that happens a lowly rating and poor'ish sentiment will persist IMO.Interesting though all said and done and providing I make a decent profit do I really care! :)

Maybe Amazon would be a potential buyer of ITV?

Are the ads on itv hub unavoidable?
ITV has a secondary subscription for £3.99 a month on ITV hub+, as well as building the britbox subscription.

ddi think being a free to air licensee is unfortunately becoming a liability they need to put their good stuff on thatand they can make more at least just now selling programmes for a fee to foreign broadcasters rather than stream it on the poorly subscribed to britboxuntil that dynamic changes i think the mkt is right to mark itv down, after all targeted internet /social media is more cost effective for lots of advertisers

How many minutes a week are watched in the ITV hub catchup? They got over 30 million subscribers for that?

stanThanks, Tbh I don't read or contribute too much because there's a lot of ramping on here (which probably serves to achieve the opposite and puts pi's off). When a stock has fallen like this one there is a tendency to simply look at the graph and assume history will repeat, but I have checked the last 7 years or so of earnings and for the life can't see why this is where it is, even analysts forecasts have this 30%'ish higher, so as posted I'm happy to just keep holding and being patient.

Should have added to previous post that I dont believe this will reach 230 anytime soon, if at all, but can someone explain why this has been in a downtrend since 2015, as I can't see why.All I know is that risk reward here is very favourable, bought at 57.5 so sleeping easy with this one.
