03/8/2023 08:13 | Gonna need a lot of hydrogen in coming years. BREAKING | #Germany to issue tenders for up to 23.8GW of #hydrogen-fired power plants by 2035 They can be operated temporarily with natural #gas until connected to the #H2 network, says vice-chancellor [...] | grahamwales
02/8/2023 23:24 | If I might repeat what somebody said yesterday..the 50% H2 in Town Gas did work perfectly well.. maybe the H2 molecules were bigger then? | norbus
02/8/2023 22:03 | Thanks for the earlier link GW. ITM has entered a new chapter where flawless execution and dependable delivery become the cornerstone of their operations. Very significant projects on the horizon imo | sonic25

02/8/2023 18:31 | "The safety assurance process outlined above will feed into the overall BEIS process of enabling hydrogen blending, as outlined in the 10 Point Plan and UK Hydrogen Strategy. This process is contingent upon a positive economic assessment, where blending represents good value-for-money, as well as safety assurance. BEIS have committed to making the hydrogen blending policy decision by the end of 2023 and are currently on track to deliver the economic case for blending by mid-2023. Following this decision, it is expected that a regulatory process will follow to make any amendments to GS(M)R. Assuming a positive policy decision, It is likely that blending outside a bespoke exemption regime will be possible from the mid-2020s." Has the Economic Case for hydrogen blending been received? | gimmethefax
02/8/2023 18:21 | I have no doubt it can be overcome, just whether it will be, or if there is actually anything significant to overcome. How big of a headache would it be? Difficult for me to conclude from the 11 month HyDeploy trial results, although they look promising. Think Gov. could move tentatively on this soon. Further safety data can be gathered from monitoring components regularly during the larger, longer, real-life trials. Not sure what else they can do experimentally. "As a consequence of these assessments, it was recommended that an increase in materials failure frequency is not likely, however the following components would be monitored or inspected at an increased frequency, during the Winlaton trial: • Steel springs in governors (checked every four months during the trial, current natural gas operations requires a check every two years) • Cast iron top/bottom caps in governors (checked every four months during the trial, current natural gas operations requires a check every two years) • Cast iron pipes and pipeline (above ground leakage survey conducted every day, current natural gas operations requires no above ground leakage surveying of cast iron pipes). Further details about material performances during the HyDeploy trial can be found on page 18... Interesting to see what happens, whether there will be a green light to blend from BEIS. | gimmethefax
02/8/2023 16:40 | Wouldn’t worry about conservative MP’s objecting they won’t have a job in 18 months time. Ministers to speed up delivery of new power lines for clean energy Mr Winser said he would proposes ways to halve the delivery time of electricity projects from 14 to seven years. This country is so full of red tape it’s unreal. 7 years takes it to 2030. Bit late then 😂😂 | grahamwales
02/8/2023 16:29 | Got to be a worthy pursuit. The gas grid will give hydrogen national reach, save having to have renewables local to demand. | hurricane99
02/8/2023 15:53 | Did someone say there was a skills shortage? Do not worry. Did you forget about ITM Academy? They are on the case... "Future plans [as of last report '22] We will continue to develop ITM Academy in FY23, with PRIORITIES centred on delivering training plans, including Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) training, and rolling out STEM, leadership and management training." I hope the new guy isn't as gullable as the last one. Them WEF boys really did a number on him, and the Company. Poor employees been put through it the last couple of years. From masks, coerced injections, and brainwashing, to a cost of living crisis stinging them in the butt. They should be looked after. When next ESG report? Must be soon. Can't wait. | gimmethefax
02/8/2023 15:35 | What are your thoughts on hydrogen blending in the existing networks? A technical headache that will not be overcome, in regards to leakage, embrittlement, etc? Or a worthy pursuit? | gimmethefax
02/8/2023 15:33 | Yes, the oxygen is very often ignored. | gimmethefax
02/8/2023 15:31 | Found it so September would be to late but August would be fine 😉 A company must publish an annual financial report not later than four months after the end of its financial year. | grahamwales
02/8/2023 15:28 | If that becomes the norm, the price of the hydrogen should materially drop with the contribution from O2 | norbus |
