Is Dennis aware of these sorts of issues do you think - forever chemicals.

....perhaps you could give your new friend a little wink wink, nudge nudge?

This information was passed on and received by ITM, pre-Dennis, but I am not sure if the information will have reached the right departments, especially since we have a new CEO now.

Serious problems, for many industries, I do believe, and guess what..?

...they don't have a solution.

Shame we don't hear from Gerry123 anymore isn't it...

I'm sure he would have something interesting to say on the chemistry, no doubt.

...wonder if the jab got him.

...or maybe it was all the fluoride?

Who knows.

It is a shame.

Linde/Statkraft combination could be one to watch for the future. Already working with Yara.

The gem that most don't give too much thought to, especially the large International Agencies: ITM tech is different to all of the rest.

Whether that matters? Time will tell.

DYOR of course.

And not only that...

"Conventional solid polymer membranes are based on fluorocarbons. They have very long polymer chains in an entanglement network – a bit like a bowl of spaghetti. Attached to the spaghetti are a series of shorter, pendant side-chains holding on to sulfonic acid groups. It is these groups that render the material ionically conductive (when hydrated in water).

ITM's material is quite different (...)"

The world is only just waking up to these issues.

"PFAS Problems"

Forever and ever.

For example, the delayed 100 MW REFHYNE 2 project at a refinery in Germany is on the IPCEI list and could take FID once funding is clarified, as long as electrolyser manufacturing also scales up.
Many refineries should follow

There you are then,.. waiting for factory to get going..

Cooley did not register a monopoly on PEM ; Ours is better than Nafion. Once efficient automation is in place, there will be enough to keep 3 factories going

"The next largest group of projects are all integrated into the use of the hydrogen. Shell’s Holland Hydrogen I in the Netherlands and Air Liquide’s Normand’Hy in France, at 200 MW each, will have capacities ten times that of Europe’s biggest existing plant and are aiming to supply existing refineries by 2025. The Shell FID was taken without government support."

Was it?

"Additional major FIDs in Europe and the United States are widely expected to flow from major policy initiatives stemming from post-pandemic stimulus funding, the ongoing energy crisis and regional ambitions to secure value chains. Under the Important Projects of Common European Interest (IPCEI) scheme, the Commission approved EUR 10.6 billion in country-level support to projects focused on technology and infrastructure in 2022. For example, the delayed 100 MW REFHYNE 2 project at a refinery in Germany is on the IPCEI list and could take FID once funding is clarified, as long as electrolyser manufacturing also scales up. The United Kingdom’s March 2023 budget promised GBP 20 billion over 20 years for electrolysis and CCUS-equipped hydrogen production; 408 MW of electrolysis projects were shortlisted in March 2023 for a first GBP 340 million funding round."

I read a complaint on the other thread about taking on RWE 200MW at cost, though I do not know who told them.. The value of such business even if it is indeed at cost is hugely beneficial to recover overheads whist the factory is tuned up for Automation and production lines,,,

I meant as prices go up and the grant stays fixed
It is strange they have not turned the on key.
I believe PEM is right for refineries

Is that how it works then? Thanks.

Shell were still interested (from what we could see) during the transition from CEO to CEO, and even changed the Refhyne website to reflect the intention to use the leap-frog 10MW unit instead of the Gigastack 5MW, before we were officially informed, which I found reassuring. Can't see anything that has changed since then, other than better management and confirmation that units are being built, tested and shipped to customers.

So I'll echo your question...

When will Shell take the Refhyne II FID?

German economy is in the gutter and expected to get far worse, rapidly (from what I hear), maybe that is something of concern to them? Maybe they are just confused.

Maybe not. Simply spit-balling.

The economic and political climate must be so frustrating for decision makers in these types of positions. Incompetence (and worse) at the highest levels.

Let’s hope so. The amount of time to test units is critical to finding out what capacity ITM have by 2024.

As I said though could do with couple of small orders to boost the share price a little.

Still trying to work out why Dennis gave 200mw of electrolysers away at cost price to Linde. Only conclusion is that it’s repaying part of Linde’s investment in ITM.

Not sure how much profit ITM would have made from the sale but must be close to £5 million to £10 million surely.

Thanks Sonic.

From PLUG yesterday :-

Plug Power Inc. (NASDAQ: PLUG), a leading provider of turnkey hydrogen solutions for the global green hydrogen economy, plans to develop three green hydrogen production plants in Finland, resulting in the production of 850 tons per day (TPD) of green hydrogen, or 2.2 gigawatts (GW) of electrolyzer capacity, by the end of the decade with final investment decision (FID) by 2025/2026.
