08/8/2016 11:26 | FPF-1 has changed direction again - now 199 degrees @0.7kn | bountyhunter
08/8/2016 10:09 | Great vid oilretire, sheer size of these things is impressive. Don't think I'd fancy being the tug guys when a force 7 or higher is hitting that beast. Dyor etc... | energiser01
08/8/2016 08:01 | Force 10 on land would mean trees being uprooted. But force 9 in Fisher area off Denmark is bad enough. High waves, poor visibility. They are better off well away, keeping clear of sea lanes imo. Storm will soon pass. . | whiskeyinthejar
08/8/2016 07:42 | yes I know, as you posted no point in heading for Forties right now, also Scotland has had extreme winds for July last night according to TV reports ...but I do wonder where it's heading for shelter (assuming that's the reason for the turnaround) - not all the way back to Gdansk I hope (direction doesn't seem quite right)? | bountyhunter
08/8/2016 07:39 | Bounty, check out the fpf1 tracking. Fpf1 has been going east for past few hour. | whiskeyinthejar
08/8/2016 07:28 | Whiskey - just checked weather forecast for Copenhagen and looks very windy for the next 5 days so you may well be right and the FPF-1 could well be seeking more sheltered waters with the stormy weather approaching Scandinavia from the west. | bountyhunter
08/8/2016 06:59 | Sorry to labour the point but I wasn't wanting inside info, I was wanting to know if you (or anyone who knows the Stella area) could say that the recent deals were all there was likely to be, or whether there was lots more potential for development of previously isolated fields or for aging fields which were barely economic but could be revived with Stella's access to the pipeline. I guess we might get an answer from Ithaca in about a week. | glitter2
08/8/2016 06:41 | Sorry, no info on that. Very unlikely that the guys in the ops team on board that I have contact with would be privy to that kind of info. | oilretire
08/8/2016 06:22 | oilretire, whilst i have your attention, are you able to respond to my post 18866: speculation on potential for more deals on fields close to Stella? thanks. | glitter2
08/8/2016 05:42 | Storm and gale weather warnings have been issued by the Met Office for North Sea area. Looks bad west of Denmark. Severe gale 9 increasing to storm force 10 in Forties area where I think Stella is located. Probably why FPF1 looks like staying east of Denmark for now. | whiskeyinthejar
08/8/2016 04:17 | FPF1 footage leaving Gdansk - nothing happens for first 30 mins, skip through to about 50 - 55 mins if you want an idea of scale.... | oilretire
08/8/2016 04:05 | Likely to be killing time for tide/weather and waiting for pilot and possibly day light? I seem to recall mention of it being 'tight' for going past the Oresund tunnel/bridge - and that was on the way to Gdansk prior to adding weight to the topsides. Looks like it's mandatory to be piloted through this section of the journey. | oilretire
08/8/2016 03:08 | i don't like this drop in speed and apparent change of course to heading east. i cant believe that we have 8 knots of adverse tide which is the only friendly explanation i can come up with. worrying to me, it looks totally wrong. | glitter2
07/8/2016 21:33 | FPF-1 ETA: 2016-08-13 12:00 UTC Not sure which vessels working on the subsea work though. | in_flu_ence
07/8/2016 20:24 | loads of bickering over on LSE...some right muppets on SOU. | georgie pie
07/8/2016 18:06 | gp - sound's good to me also ...so far so good! :-) | bountyhunter
07/8/2016 18:01 | Yes bounty sound looking good...il hopefully be able to put quite a bit of profit from them into here then sit back till Christmas. Another sleepless night tonight but full of confidence for tomorrow. | georgie pie
07/8/2016 15:23 | Hmm. Would be handy to see tankers arriving at fpf1 (until they hook it up to the pipeline). | whiskeyinthejar
07/8/2016 15:05 | yes I agree that's quite likely - the Olympic Octopus appears to have been out of AIS range for some time after heading for the GSA | bountyhunter
07/8/2016 14:35 | I think we will lose tracking of fpf1 on the free sites once it hits central north sea? It'll be out of range of land based AIS stations I think. Satellite tracking might still pick it up? Or maybe the platform will have its own AIS station? | whiskeyinthejar
07/8/2016 12:10 | Another 8 days or so to GSA. I'll be watching SOU in the meantime which has done well of late but is far more of a gamble than IAE going forwards imo - volatility ahead there for sure (tomorrow may be interesting)! | bountyhunter |
