There's a slight pullback today, which is almost inevitable given the recent rapid rise, but there's certainly no collapse. I expect we now have a number of II's that would jump in if prices drop.

There are now no scheduled updates until mid-July's Half-year Trading update so a few big sales in the next quarter would be most welcome.

Here's Steve Tongish's summary of the FTTH Conference in Berlin last week. I had no idea that 3000+ attended so that makes it all the more strategically significant that IQGeo's Raf Meersman is the current president.

If they do look to acquire some workforce management capabilities it's very hard to predict who it might be as there are so many.

One thing, it appears that if such software is already targeted at utilities it's probably not cheap. It may be better to buy capabilities that can be customised for utilities but originally aimed at another market to buy cheaper and then increase the value.

Some smaller below.

UK based - looks useful - debts!!
UK based - could be optimised.
UK based - £1.6M equity, Utility useage possible???

Geocall by OverIT - utility focused and integrates with various utility-specific syustems. Probably expensive to acquire. Bain Capital and Renaissance control.

Very surprised by price action today, up on very decent increase in 3 month average daily volume after recent increases too.

Results and IMC may account for it but 409K approx by 2pm Vs 159K for an average full day and up 6%. Looks like more than just PI's.

How long before a predator decides to move and see what they can pick this up for?
Kestrel won't let go cheaply and hold more than enough to block with just a few extra holders on their side.

Perhaps the £5 Cavendish target on "conservative" projections is about right.

The Cavendish note suggests the op-ex growth will moderate this and next year as the team and cost base is near that needed to achieve targets set. More to flow through to bottom line, proving the operational gearing. The whole set-up will attract institutional interest as it's past the very risky phase and stands on its own two feet with top and bottom line growth and a big market to address.

Makes a great deal of sense to integrate workforce management if they can find a sensibly priced capability to bolt-on.

Notice Grid should be much larger than Fiber and we haven't seen full impact yet by a long, long, way. Still relatively early days.

A link from simply wall Street that does look legit. They had the Sansom holding % right after he sold, others still don't. That suggested the numbers were up to date.

Sansom sold to let institution in, whomever it was had less than 3% as didn't declare and I think more than one so his sale was split.

Will look to post list less than 3% later all being well.

Thanks for the reply pf, I can now see how that would make sense as an acquisition.

Where did you see JP Morgan as a sub-3% holder? That could be big.

I see Ameriprise has reduced again, but all very orderly and the market is absorbing these reductions by some major holders with no problem. Good to bring in an additional group of IIs...all makes for an even stronger shareholder register.

Expecting any large holder, wanting to reduce as value of their holding goes up, to find buyers in the list holding below 3%. Some good names there and they don't have to declare until they reach the limit.

Someone is willing to pay up at reasonable volume at 436p.
JP Morgan are a small holder below 3%, not noticed them in the past.

hp, too many to be specific.

I would expect them to have some steer from customers and what they already use and what features could be enhancements on what they already use.

Very many workforce management tools out there.

Becomes interesting as routing workforce for minimal truck rolls, maximum safety and best efficiency (quick rectification post "event" & quicker personnel response in general) is where some simpler AI and ML could add value.

Anything along the lines of GIS for utility roll-out etc is probably highly priced currently but I suspect some sensible valuations in workforce management are available that would have increased value if integrated into IQGEO. A quick way to increase the multiple of the acquired company and offer an add-on module. May even be able to pick one thing up at a sensible price. Makes sense.

Also useful for external contractor employment with BYOD etc.

Lots of really positive stuff in the IMC presentation, in particular Richard Petti's response to Question 7 where he indicated strong II interest and demand for shares.

Any thoughts on the Workforce Management companies that Haywood Chapman suggested might be an area where IQG could look to make an acquisition?

I listened back to some of the call and and here is the full answer to the dividend in the next 18 months question. Looks like there could be another purchase on the cards after all...

"We want to continue investing that cash in growing the business. We've shown there's a huge addressable market and we would like to chase that as much as possible, investing in R&D and sales. Our Product set is pretty complete but we would always consider further M&A. I think we've been very good with the M&A we've done, we've bought some really good companies and we've integrated them really well and I think we've got a really good track record so could do that again. There are certain specific products that we would look at, things like Workforce management...again we sell a lot of mobile licences...so we don't foresee paying any dividends in the next 18 months."

It was a solid, professional update with good supporting slides and a clear vision laid out. As expected, there were no fireworks or irrational promises and Haywood ruled out dividends in the next 18 months, preferring to reinvest in the business.

The potential is there for all to see but I can see fickle holders bailing if news is light until July's midyear TU. Hopefully there will be some wins or director buys before then.

pf, that Cavendish report is excellent - thanks for steering me there. The word that jumps out for me is Conservatively, with 54 mentions. Looks like they are sandbagging and there will be a chance to upgrade estimates in the coming months but a £5 target will do nicely for now.

This afternoon's Investor Meet presentation is a must-watch. I've been actively encouraging investors on Twitter to join the call so we may get a few newbies here. Incredible that IQGeo has climbed over 800% in 5 years and isn't a bigger name. Still maintain this could be £Bn company in the next 3-5 years.

Had a look see at at DER installation of Solar and Battery - 5.8Kw - relatively small. Very interesting inc need to pull-in supply/demand info from the Smart Meters for billing and billing process depending on the time of the day when the DER can supply the grid - earn. Gets complicated and demand profile of the DER can also come into play to avoid depletion of the storage as can weather and it's all related to GIS.

It is the future. Will become more common and proper documentation for installation, at installation, really needs to be in the hands of the field installation people - mobile first. Including taking photos for archive. All then added to the SOR at base to build the Network record.

IQGEO can "support data feeds from millions smart IoT network devices", see........Professional Integration Framework - confirm they can handle millions of IoT data feeds on a mobile platform.

AI over all of this for profiles of demand vs time vs supply all vs location of supply & demand and the weather forecast +++. The longer they collect the data for the more predictive and efficient. A true smart grid is just beginning to be formed. TBD. There will be need to be met for years, it's still very early innings.

Dyor etc.

A possibility IQGEO won an innovation award at FFTH 2024.
I don't use twitter/x and can't see precisley but think its for the "Planning, Workflow, Mapping/GIS, AI Software" section. That is the only category IQGEO makes sense to win in.

Just had chance to download and read the Cavendish note.
Everyone that reads here please register for it and have a good thorough read.
It outlines ADAPTIVE GRID and even I am amazed at the spending expected & potential for IQGEO revenue.

W13, Cavendish note mentions "potential shareholder returns in the medium term".
Expecting net cash to rise to £20.1M in FY25 and possibly fuelling acquisitions.
Ideally they won't need to dilute if they buy something.

It mentions conservatively/conservative 59x.
Do you think they want the message to come across the figures are conservative?

If they are conservative there is a real chance of an upgrade as the story unfolds further.
