29/4/2019 11:50 | My question is - were these options due to expire. If so it is obvious why Nelson has chosen to buy the shares But if the options were not due to expire why would he not keep them as options. I suppose it gives him a little extra voting power to push back an unwelcome bid. | boboty
29/4/2019 11:50 | Not sure if I'm "some" but I read it as neutral. Any partial sale could mean remaining shares Drew has, hit by drop in sp, and Drew is the main face in dicsussions with instis, who would want to know why he sold, when they perhaps bought at £1.40+ in direct response to Drews pitch. There may also be plans to tf some to family members later in tax year, which may then be sold. In short, possibly not the traditional sign of confidence as not buying at market rate, but not selling immediately means he avoids wrath - so neutral IMO. Dave | dr_smith
29/4/2019 11:22 | It’s also rather a bargain! Xmas day/ birthday rolled into one ...and then some But everyone knows my view of options. Very interesting that he has decided to KEEP his shares, he hasn’t sold a single share and I would imagine if he was thinking of selling any, it would have been incorporated into this transaction, as per Howard Williams recent sale. No doubt ‘some’ will come up with an alternative vision, but besiding the small ‘dilution̵ S | sweenoid

29/4/2019 10:34 | APHRODITES12 Apr '19 - 10:53 - 25671 of 25798 "Regas, My Hedge Fund contact in Hong Kong, who was confident IQE would be taken over in the long-run, returns to work in the U.K. next week. It will be interesting when I see him to see what he thinks about the current level in the share price. The lower it gets the more attractive it must look to an interested overseas buyer." -End- Hi APHRO, I can't contain myself any longer. A couple of weeks have now passed since your post. The share price has ticked-up 5p during that period. I'd be pleased to hear that he's buying more IQE and that he sees it as a takeover in the region of 150p+ - VERY SOON. Please, 'Go ahead, make my day' - [Dirty Harry]. Best regards, regas. | regasclockwork
28/4/2019 20:48 | We know the Honor 20 phones are coming on May 21, but we didn't know much about what they would look like... until now. A new leak shows off a subtle pink and white gradient backing for what we assume is the standard Honor 20........... ...........An earlier leak showed the same render in a teal color. You can see both images below – the three main camera lenses and a smaller 3D time-of-flight (ToF) depth sensor. Honor to announce the upcoming Honor 20 series on 21st May 2019 in London After the successful launch of the Honor View20, Huawei’s Honor sub-brand is gearing up to launch its next device. Honor has sent out invites for its next event where the company will announce the Honor 20 series. | maxwellsdemon

28/4/2019 10:55 | sweenoid - 16 Apr 2019 - 07:46:41 - 25715 of 25799 [edited] "Options are rewards for performance." "I hope Howard Williams enjoys his bonus, which, knowing the hours and the constant travel he does, I believe has been well earned." "I am expecting the new chairman and CFO to buy shares...." -End- Well, twelve days have passed and no sign of the new chairman and CFO buying any shares, but I guess it's a big decision to make when it's your own money you're thinking of having a 'gamble' with? Now regarding Howard Williams [Chief Operations Officer, since 2004] and his bonus. Whether it's ALL been 'well earned' I couldn't possibly say, but he certainly does appear to have enjoyed a few bonus's over the past 8-years or so. A quick glance back at his 'school report' shows me he got off to a good start in April 2010 when he bought, with his own money? 62,000 shares @ 16.50p [£10,230.00]. However, since then, I think I'm right in saying that he has bought no further shares 'with his own money', but has trousered around £5.7m in bonuses by exercising options and then selling them. Not a bad little earner on top of your basic salary? Sweeney says, "Options are rewards for performance". Share price has dropped from 181.50p to 74.50p! All I can say is, "WHAT A PERFORMANCE!" 28/4/2019 10:08 | Just to mention an interesting encounter I happened to pop into a high street safe deposit outlet and was given the tour . Planning ahead for my windfall once we go exponential once again The safe has facial recognition technology AND I was told that the sensor recognises blood flow in the skin, so no worries about unscrupulous types using your decapitated head to access your safe deposit box/ lambourgini ( sweenoid)/ reasonably priced car (Reg). Although if you are feeling a bit rough and dehydrated it might presumably not recognise you | thereptile
27/4/2019 14:15 | True Dave but I noticed that Nvidia (the worlds largest?? supplier of add-in graphics cards) now includes hardware ray tracing with all its latest generation cards. I just wonder if it is powered by IMG RT?? If so, it arrived to late to save them. A stark reminder that being first to market with a good product isn't a guarantee of success. | jamesrowe

26/4/2019 15:51 | A couple of snippets from a recent post of mine: regasclockwork20 Apr '19 - 23:27 - 25758 of 25793 0 7 0 "Not exactly a vote of confidence when the 'Operations Director' sells 3.2m shares for average of 68.4p - for 'Personal Wealth Planning'? Mmmmmmm!" "Not only do we get NO directors buying when it dropped to 55p [from 181.5p], instead, we get a director 'SELLING' recently at 68.4p. He presumably can't see it going up much in the near or mid-term, otherwise he would have arranged a bridging-loan or some such thing offering his shares as security?" -End- Since his sale the share price has gone up around 10%. If he had taken out that 'loan' mentioned above, rather than sell, he would have now been in the position to trouser a further £250,000 [approx.]. Still, as the old saying goes, "East come, easy go" and it doesn't come much easier than this for some of these chaps. Not all gloom for Howard Williams though as he has ONLY sold around 55% of his holding so has 2.6m+ shares still at hand in case another 'Personal Wealth Crisis' crops up? EDIT: Share price WAS up 10% since his share sale, but IS no more. The joys of 'gambling' eh! | regasclockwork
26/4/2019 14:01 | Interesting and informative for those that don’t understand the rigorous nature of product validation and verification and most importantly qualification The key line is The analyst doesn't think this was performance related, but rather due "unsuccessful qualification of the part for production." If you remember from results, IQE are very happy about both the yield AND the quality of their qualification procedures. If you don’t know these procedures can involve an extensive number of ‘runs’ or ‘cycles’ and be time consuming ++, and not only involve the product but ALSO the reactor that makes it. We all grumble when a lot of $$$ were spent in 2018 and in H1 this year, but This will all generate the revenue and profit of tomorrow. Just remind yourself of the very high number of companies qualified or qualifying at the moment :-) By the way , even though Qorvo are a big customer I am guessing our biggest customer Skyworks will be picking up the slack here :-) eitherways the success of the current qualifications is heartening S | sweenoid
