09/6/2018 19:03 | 3 out of 5 letters matching Diplomat. You're getting ever closer to understanding English. We'll start on the tech side soon. | sheep_herder
09/6/2018 16:32 | Thanks nortisoP. I won't be buying any of these shares then - lol! | diplomat65
09/6/2018 16:23 | Nothing to do with LIDAR and not relevant to IQE. Uses 300-4800 MHz low power RF scan to look for resonance signatures of concealed weapons. | nortisop
09/6/2018 14:55 | Just been reading up on PATSCAN, a state-of-the-art Canadian concealed weapon detection system that uses cognitive microwave radar. I was wondering if this might be a LIDAR application and if so fitted with IQE's VCSELs. The share price is 1.57 Canadian Dollar (TSX.V). The link below tells an exciting story of massive potential sales globally - schools, stadiums, airports etc. Any techies out there care to comment?hTTps://patr | diplomat65
09/6/2018 12:10 | Just reviewing seeking alpha notifications first thing actually DS...the concept of California execs relocating to Newport amused me that’s all !! Have a nice day one and all.. | beermat1
09/6/2018 10:27 | It’s interesting to note Shorts increased few days before Nikki report came out. Makes you you wonder who is driving such baseless and misleading reports. Anyone falling for them really should not be risking their money in stock market, especially after Wall St was left with a egg on their face with last Apple quarter results. | solderflux
09/6/2018 10:01 | incpractice: Get your act together - grity beat you to it in post 17773 - and gritys link was hyperwatsitafied! ;-) We often think IQE stories are distorted as it's a tiddly company few are familiar with and prone to manipulation. The cnbc article just shows it doesn't get any better for co's a tad bigger than IQE, such as Apple, with regard to believability and scepticism around news. P.S. typed before seeing above post by sweenoid. :-) | dr_smith
09/6/2018 09:54 | Cotswold The ‘date’ and it’s history had not passed me by ;-) being the date of the trading statement for the last 3 years. However ,it’s a Friday, so news should not be coming then, so I guess it will come anywhere between the 17th-24th this year. As for the visit, I am hoping to see evidence of the arrival of the 2nd tranche of 5 , we shall see. I am, for obvious reasons hoping the statement comes before the visit, but my best guess is it will come the week after. Beermat1 - this is a classical example of looking at a piece of news and either believing it ( when it’s nonsense as per Nikki report on Apple suppliers) or not further exploring ALL the reasons behind a piece of news. My personal take about the Lumentum CFO was that he was probably ousted , as why would anyone in their right mind leave a company that is making a massive acquisition ( Oclaro) and is just about ( like IQE) to cream the riches from 3D sensing. Sometimes, operatives are ‘allowed’ Anyhow I just saw this and I think I was correct, it’s from someone much closer to the company than me Shares of Lumentum Holdings Inc. are down 2.6% in premarket trading after the optical-equpiment company announced that its chief financial officer would be leaving the company, but Needham analyst Alex Henderson is upbeat about the transition. "As Lumentum becomes a much larger company the skills required call for a more seasoned CFO with large company experiences and merger skills," he wrote. "We think this is a move from a position of strength and indicative of the strong trajectory of Lumentum," Henderson said. :-) So as in all things don’t believe what you read, till you fully understand all the implications, and ALWAYS remember that in a networked world , false news is replicated anywhere and everywhere and copy and pasted ad nauseas by people ( eg Telegraph with Nikki report) who are clueless. Best pay attention to people who do thoughtful diligent high callibre research eh ;-) S | sweenoid
09/6/2018 08:16 | Dave, "By the way, tours booking up quickly, Hammerd and I just got the last 2 spots on the final tour of Newport facility 20th July pm" Trading statement (possible) and tour of the factory! You're going to be in the right place at the right time. Or should we expect a delayed update when management realise this...still, Penarth bars will have plenty of time to re-stock! ;-) CS | cotswoldsparky
09/6/2018 07:15 | I see the Lumentum CFO resigned to pursue other opportunities....jus | beermat1
08/6/2018 21:31 | Potential: "Will end up blue by close watch :-)" You were correct - the line on the chart was blue at the close.... but then the line on the chart at the top of this page is always blue whether it goes up or down.... :-) | jamesrowe
08/6/2018 19:55 | An example - planning permission was granted - a surprise - to redevelop an old police station with >120 flats near me - 3 years later my local mayor/councillor sold her house and I asked why - answer "were getting older and thought we'd downsize" - guess where her new penthouse is situated ! | panic investor
08/6/2018 19:53 | I think it would help if IQE places prominently on its website some info about the number of customers it has and the most reliance it has in a single customer. The "supplier of chips" to Apple moniker really is a millstone without relevance. As far as LIDAR in cars is concerned, it won't be limited to automated or self-driving cars. It has the potential to be fitted to all cars as a standard safety feature. But really, the share price here is bloody annoying. | mad foetus
08/6/2018 19:48 | They will only do things if brown envelopes are involved I assure you | panic investor
08/6/2018 19:30 | ONJohn: Consider Poombear's post below "You could look at as 20% reduction in iPhones, but a 400% increase of iPhones with 3D sensing." Great news I would say. | bocase
08/6/2018 19:02 | Trot ONJohn | poombear
08/6/2018 18:51 | Apple going to order less parts Profit warning coming I fear | onjohn
08/6/2018 18:09 | It doesn't make me chuckle. I am afraid planners seem to be cretins wherever they are. It has just taken me four and a half years and five applications to get consent to convert a derelict eyesore of a barn into an attractive house.(And that was only won on appeal) I am sure IQE will run rings around them but planners do feel the need to prove to the world that they are idiots first. | bocase
08/6/2018 16:50 | Do nothing councillors need an angle to make it look like they are actually doing something. Made me chuckle reading that article. | poombear
08/6/2018 16:41 | Yes Dave, but on the plus side it keeps the door open to top at a level I think is an easy double by this time next year...the swings and roundabouts and merry go round of the stock markets ;) | richardc77
08/6/2018 16:18 | Potential: "Will end up blue by close watch :-)" I am watching..you have 12 minutes left to work some magic!! | dr_smith
08/6/2018 15:59 | I Defo wouldn’t bet against Apple! | grity |
