30/12/2016 11:51 | I've got a hunch that 42/50p price targets will be easily taken out by spring 17. I would not be suprised if we have doubled from here by end of next year. Whatever happens GLTA | richardc77

30/12/2016 04:13 | Have we a provisonal date for next update. I would be delighted to liquidate at 50p. Happy to hold close to that | shanieboy01
29/12/2016 21:18 | The key for me in the results will be the like for like sales growth ignoring currency movements. We know the licensing income will be down, which I attribute to one off events last time and to be honest it did flatter our figures, but did buy us some time. We need wireless to be up at least 5% and if photonics can be up 50% with the same prospects next year, then we could be in the mid 40p share price I was tempted to sell out at 30p, but decided to hold on. I'll review my position if we hit 42p, which is my next target level. | lpavlou

29/12/2016 09:36 | The presentation of this years -2016-earnings will be affected by the £v$ exchange rate. IQEwill use a 'spot value' based on the exchange rate TOMORROW presumably at close of trading, this level will be virtually at the year low for the £. The affects are explained here and are mainly presentational, although this will be very nice reading -primarily the front line figures that feature in the 'headlines' will benefit significantly, creating a nice BIG BUZZARD :-), particularly the key revenue figure Figures such as debt will be increased ,I was liking the decreasing leverage but this will be skewed negatively, I can live with that as long as the cash creation continues apace. Overall the currency changes will be positive for us but no-where near like as positive for companies like IMG.i am not concerned with the debt, as in a low interest economy the relative 'costs' are small. To remind you, this is what they said in the trading update Revenues, which are primarily dollar denominated, also benefitted in H2 from the devaluation of sterling following the UK’s EU membership referendum on 23rd June 2016. The currency impact on profitability is largely presentational as the majority of the Group’s costs are also denominated in dollars. The balance sheet impact is also presentational, as both non-sterling assets and liabilities will be translated at the year-end spot rate. This is expected to impact positively the presentation of shareholder funds. Furthermore, although the Group has de-leveraged its balance sheet during 2016 in underlying dollar terms, the presentation of this is expected to be distorted adversely in sterling. Dates to look for in 2017 are the earnings reports and commentary from our major customers in the last week of January. Happy new year to IQE investors, I think 2017 is going to be a cracker :-) S | sweenoid

28/12/2016 07:39 | David Kempton of Citywire reviews his AIM stocks' performance in 2016, including: "IQE (IQE) is up by 32%. These are exciting times for this Welsh company, which designs and manufactures semiconductor wafers and photonics. It generates almost zero of its revenues in the UK revenue and there’s a 15% currency lift to the bottom line since June for starters. They have become a big holding of mine and I am very happy with that. This is a 'buy'" | rivaldo

27/12/2016 11:07 | Eventually the tipsters tip everything, so the only point of taking any notice is if a load of them tip at once, then the share price has a chance of rising on pi buying, even if a business is doing nothing. IQE can be judged on its own merits I think, tipsters or no. | yump
26/12/2016 18:01 | Oh dear, Malcolm Stacey.... hardly gives IQE any cache of class. Another Failed Tipster. | effess hay

24/12/2016 07:51 | Mind blowing numbers but what a great idea. Perhaps a bit of indirect business for IQE Also shows Solar is the future. Large swathes of land are being covered in solar panels on the continent and even I notice in UK. I noticed that comimg into land at Luton. | amt

23/12/2016 11:23 | Poor form Sheepy There again I guess it's a Pavlovian reflex reaction ....just like your assertion about 'frecking liars' , not something that should ever be said about anything or anyone without a 100% certainty that it's true. FWIW, for many years I have not completely believed anything or anyone, sad but true. I look at both sides of any argument and try and make sense of it. When ever ANYTHING comes to law, throw out any belief that either sides arguments are the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth ;-) S | sweenoid
23/12/2016 09:49 | sweenoid, yes, it was released on the 20th at end of play so the US took note yesterday. Big volume and a big plunge. If you read the MACOM press about this they have definitely ramped it up. Infineon are stating that MACOM operated outside of the Nitronex license and admited to doing so but refused to update the license to cover that addition. Certainly doesn't sound as one sided in MACOM's favour as you or they make it. Did Sir HY join MACOM? | sheep_herder
23/12/2016 09:09 | I think we're now at the stage whereby we're ripe for being taken out. The newsflow has turned positive and we're still not making any money out of our future growth products. A bid now at 55p would be very hard to turn down. Why wait for another year when the share price will be higher as sales take-off. | lpavlou
23/12/2016 08:44 | Hi Sheepy That ' news ' from Infineon came on the previous trading day Obviously since Infineon are still contesting the case they have to come up with some rhetoric that sounds positive for its shareholders Any legal case is open to interpretation , however I challenge anyone who actually reads the wording of the interim court judgement to state that Infineon are likely to win ;-) , in fact I would suggest that it would be one of the greatest come-backs against overwhelming odds in legal history. I think calling Macom 'lying flecks' is a bit OTT when they were merely restating the court judgement ;-) Which is here-read it carefully Remember this case is about GAN on silicon , so the judgement has no effect on infineons GAN on silicon carbide-it's a damning verdict, being ordered to inform all your customers of this verdict!, do you think anyone will be progressing in any way, order, shape or form with GAN on silicon deals with Infineon with this order in place?, mind you, if they did they would probably be using IQE wafers, also I would not be surprised if Macom and IQE had some exclusivity deal lined up???? 22/12/2016 21:27 | C'mon Sweenoid, 'tis Christmas, the time of good cheer - we can a dream sometimes. You are right, as ever! Iechyd da. | shavian
22/12/2016 17:11 | An interesting article...if you are into this sort of thing ;-) Personally, I think talk of a £1 share price here, is rather over enthusiastic, don't you think? Good to be positive as long as it's backed by a fundamental proposition but over-enthusiasm sometimes can seem rather ridiculous. S | sweenoid
22/12/2016 14:04 | Maroni TonyI'm always open to other opinion but I think you are a bit behind the news curve on VRS. I'm beginning to wonder which will be first to £1 sp, IQE or VRS? | shavian |
