Local incentives for the project are expected to be decided this week. The city of Greensboro will be asked at its meeting tonight (Monday, Nov. 4) to approve $2,410,711 in incentives. On Thursday, Nov. 7, Guilford County commissioners will be asked to approve incentives of $2,618,623
I guess this is the significant money mentioned as this is a few million dollars |
That makes it a lot clearer, good post Lammergeier |
IQE’s expansion at its manufacturing facility will take place over several years.
Pennsylvania site was bought in 2007 for about $3million and they sold it for $5.5 million.
The moral of the tale is that the sum of the parts is much greater than the whole
and hopefully the BOD will unlock the intrinsic value during 2025 especially in Taiwan |
The ONE NC money is only reported at 275k dollars and IQE have to match this amount and only get it once milestones met, this is NOT a couple of million? So is there more money than reported coming from local goverment as I would not class the above as significant? |
The local Government is NOT the Chips Act, although they are stumping up a couple of million $ |
The North Carolina site is also supported through significant funding from the local government.
I read this as encouraging regarding CHIPS ACT funding |
Sounds like Bones has the open short.... Good luck! ;-) |
That's 4.6% of their Market Cap they are getting in cash for the site sale |
Arlet is awful and Amy slight negative results in a hammering to the share price . I see there is still an open short on iqe which doesn't bode well . Seem unable to improve profitability and having to go cap in hand to lombard is never a great sign when they get involved imo . I'll watch as wouldn't feel comfortable holding this ATM |

The North Carolina site is also supported through significant funding from the local government.Jutta Meier, Interim CEO and CFO, commented:"The completion of the sale of our decommissioned Pennsylvania site will further strengthen our balance sheet, bringing in $5.5m in cash by the end of 2024. I am pleased to complete this milestone and the further consolidation of our manufacturing footprint. |
It shows that it’s a market of two halves, at least poor performance is not isolated to IQE |

No doubt these options will still kick in if the company is taken over before the 2 or 3 years are up. |
I assume ALs 3065000 share options will not crystallise this December, so she will get some of these if the company is still around in 3 years time |
LTS You sound even harsher than I did. |
Hey go easy on them, numbers (as we know) are not their thing, they’re a R&D company 😉 |
It says performance related for the 3 years to Dec 2026. I make that 2 years. Poor at arithmetic doesn’t bode well for a supposed high tech company! |
I had hoped for a new permanent CEO in the new year, but perhaps this share incentive (although relatively small) is an indication they are doubtful about finding one soon. |
Yes but they are now her shares. And like the rest of us her relative wealth will increase or decrease depending on the fortunes of iqe share price. I call that skin in the game. |
One day an LTIP share giveaway will fall upon someone who actually earns it by dragging the company back to a going concern that rewards long term investors |
What skin? They are nil cost. |
Historically only Drew and Americo after have bought significant shares in IQE but it hasn’t stopped the share price going from 15p to £1.80 and then lows of 15/20p to 80p so I wouldn’t base your investment decisions on that. Currently it’s undervalued, especially with Taiwan listing but after that gets priced in next year it’s anyone’s guess. |
Is Drew Nelson insider enough. |
